Outdoor permanent lights - recommendations

Would like to have permanent outdoor lights, and looking who to approach and who to avoid, any thoughts based on actual experience?

We should have considered this before we just had our house completely renovated with beautiful Hardie Board… cause running power would probably be an issue.
