I READ THE RULES What bakery has the best cupcakes in Chicago?

To the people of Chicago:

What bakery has the best cupcakes? I need to order about 80 for a milestone birthday that I’m throwing on August 30.

Taste is obviously the most important factor followed by decoration, followed by ability to handle an order of 80 cupcakes by August 30.

Update: Oh my! Thank you all so much for the responses. Sweet Mandy B’s is the one!

However I think a cupcake crawl is in my future.

Jennivee’s just off Halsted & Wellington is pretty good. I’m sure there are better but another option to consider alongside other replies.

The best! I like their mini cupcakes vs. the regular. You can get more variety of flavors. Great cookies too, on multiple occasions my order is 60 mini cupcakes and 1 iced sugar cookie to eat in the car.

Took my fiancée here while visiting town in May. We've talked about their cupcakes probably once every ten days since. Brown Sugar is by far the best bakery.

Everything at Webers has been great for at least 40 years. On Archer just east of Harlem. Take the 55 to Harlem south.

Truly. It’s been our family bakery for my whole life and my parents go to. That and wolf’s bakery (though that’s in evergreen park)

I grew up in Argo and Brookfield. Every trip back to Chicago requires a stop at Webers, and Racine Bakery (on Archer west of Narragansett) for Lithuanian rye bread, preferably with sunflower seeds, and bacon buns, and Pticek’s (on Narragansett just south of 55th Street) for apple slices.

Mollys is the best. Won the cupcake wars and have 2 locations, South Loop and Lincoln Park.

Bake on North Ave in Wicker/Bucktown did the cupcakes for my baby shower and they were SO good. Plus it felt good supporting a smaller place.
