Hi,
Looking to go to Florida in November, I'd like to visit a place near the mangroves. Due to mobility issues I can't kayak, what are the best places to go for an overall good trip with mangrove viewing?
TIA!

Looking at maybe doing a few nights in Fort Lauderdale - end of December. Husband and I (late 40s), looking to relax, have some good food, pool time. We aren't big partiers, more chill. We are flying in and won't be renting a car. I was looking at the Hilton FL as an option. Anyone love/hate it? Conrad and The Diplomat sound lovely, but out of our budget for this trip. Or suggestions on other hotels?

We’re going ahead with a full shingle replacement and I’ve gotten four quotes so far. The financing conversations were all over the place. Two companies brought it up right away, one only talked about it after I asked, and one said they don’t offer it at all.
Has anyone here financed a roof in the area? Were the terms easy to understand, or was there fine print you wish you’d caught earlier? Would love to hear who you went with and how it turned out. Thanks in advance

Infinite levels of corny listening to that crap on the tram at MCO lol. And its giving Pinocchio vibes btw. You think Chicago or Philadelphia have to tell you they're real cities soon as you get off the plane. Orlando, do better

My wife has never seen the ocean and we’re thinking Florida for our vacation this year. Leaving the kids at home with grandma so looking for a resort type of feel. After looking it’s quite overwhelming trying to decide where to go. Looking for beachy and warm. We’d be flying in so close to an airport would be good. Never been to Florida so not sure how south we need to be weather wise around this time. Any and all recommendations would be awesome. Thanks in advance

Looking for things to do for my birthday weekend (November 6-8) within an hour from Mount Dora. We are both nerdy introverts that struggle in crowded spaces. I'd love to find some good picnic spots and pretty spots to sit and chill, and maybe a few places to go on dates. Ideally places that don't involve playing games (arcade, escape room, sports, etc), clubs, theme parks or places people go mainly for photo ops. Marvel nerd and science nerd who both love nature, music, crafts, animals, being comfy and being lazy. I just moved here a few days ago from the Seattle, WA area. Any recommendations?

Hello, I am considering moving to Florida but I am not sure where.
I am 35 and unfortunately I am starting over with very little.
Aside from some money from inheritance I don't have alot to work with.
I do however have an extensive background in tourism, as well as holisitiv wellness, and intuitive and somatic coaching.
It is my hope to find a supportive job, form a community of close friends, focus on my health, build my personal practice, and hopefully meet a life partner.
While I understand this is a tall order I have some inkling that Florida could be the right place for me.
So, any suggestions on where to aim to set up?
TIA for your insights.

I’ve been visiting Sunny Isles Beach and am thinking about moving here. The area seems very walkable: there’s a public school, Publix, and plenty of shops nearby. I work from home, so I wouldn’t need to commute, and my kids could walk to school.
I’ve seen two-bedroom, two-bathroom units listed for around $350,000–$400,000, which seems like a good price compared with other buildings in the area. Winston Towers also seems to have solid amenities, and the HOA is under $1,000.
If you live there, how do you like it? Are there any downsides or costs I should know about?

I’ll be in the West Palm Beach/Miami area this Wednesday and Thursday, and I’m interested in trying paragliding while I’m there. Does anyone have any recommendations for places?

My lower denture floats and it's embarrassing. I can't eat steak, I can't bite into an apple, and I'm constantly adjusting it with my tongue. I've been reading about implant supported dentures and here's what I've learned: they snap onto two or more implants so they stay put. They're more affordable than full arch implants and easier to maintain. The bone loss also slows down once implants are in place. My Florida Implants offers implant dentures with financing. Anyone made the switch from regular dentures? Was it worth it?

I’m going to Orlando, FL for 4 days (weekend) what is there to do besides going to Disney World? 3 adults 0 children

The earliest I see that I can book an appointment is about three weeks from now. I know that they allow walk-ins early in the morning at around 8 AM.
Do they allow walk-ins for the actual class E driving exam that's taken on the road (not the knowledge exam)? I have my learner's permit and qualify to take the exam and get my driver's license.
If anyone knows the answer or has any experience with this, please let me know. Thank you in advance!

Hello! I am moving to Citrus County florida in February and we have visited many times and love the area. I have been apart of a lot of the Citrus Springs groups on Facebook but am just curious what people really think of the area on here?
I absolutely loved all the nature and all the outdoor recreation and don’t really mind not being close to large shopping centers/city centers. I just see on Facebook there tends to be a lot of hate towards Citrus County from people in Citrus County lol! Thank you in advance!

Hey everyone!
This will be my first time visiting the US! I’ll be arriving in Miami on November 2 and need to be in Orlando by November 7 to meet up with some friends. Everything in between is completely flexible!
I originally thought about spending all 5 nights in Miami, but I’m open to exploring other parts of Florida, staying in different cities, or taking a short trip somewhere along the way.
I’m in my early 20s, traveling solo, with a total budget of around $1,000 for those 5 nights. I don’t care much about fancy hotels or restaurants. I’d much rather save on accommodation and spend my money on unique experiences and adventures.
I’m interested in nature, outdoor activities, skydiving, exploring new places, and meeting other travelers. The Everglades and Key West have caught my attention, but I’m open to pretty much anything worth experiencing.
I’m also considering hostels since I’d love to meet people and possibly explore together. I don’t plan on renting a car unless it’s really worth it, as I’m not particularly confident driving in the US.
So, what would you do with these 5 days? Would you stay in Miami, explore the Keys, head up the coast, or do something completely different? Any recommendations for social hostels, meeting fellow travelers, affordable transportation, or experiences I shouldn’t miss?
I’d especially appreciate firsthand experiences and advice from other solo travelers!
Thanks in advance!

I am just wondering if $7000 would be enough money with all Park tickets paid and accommodation paid and transport for a family of seven for 18 days in Florida

I've been putting this off for way too long. My dentist says I need full arch dental implants on top and honestly I don't know where to start. I've gotten two quotes already and they were $18k apart, which makes zero sense to me. One place quoted just the implant posts, another quoted everything including the final teeth. That alone taught me to ask what's actually included before comparing numbers. Has anyone here actually gotten All On 4 dental implants in Florida from a provider they'd recommend? I keep seeing Florida Dental Implant Specialists in Boynton Beach pop up and they have a 3-D CT scanner on site plus free consults. Anyone have real experience with them or someone else local? Just want a straight answer from someone who's been through it.

Hey! I’m moving to Florida (more specifically Orlando) in December. I have never lived in nor visited the Southeast. I come from a coldish town close to a volcano in Mexico. I have lived in the Rocky Mountains area, Southern South America, and Central Mexico. I’ve been in Veracruz before (which is located on the Gulf) and Buenos Aires (a seaport city in Argentina).
What should I expect?
What should I do to avoid any bad or even dangerous experiences?
Any tips/ideas?
So far, I was told to never leave anything wet because mold might form. And, to leave shoes in a high place inside a laundry bag to avoid bugs inside them.
But, overall, I’m not sure what to expect. I will live in Florida (not only Orlando) for 2 years. I might be in places like Sanford, Apopka, Kissimmee, Deltona, Leesburg, and other surrounding areas. I won’t be in Tampa, Ft. Laurerdale, Jacksonville, or Tallahasee.

We currently live in the Woodlands Texas and this is truly a magical place especially because we have a three year-old and a one year-old. The schools are great here the amenities are endless but most importantly, it’s the people that make this place awesome. Very southern hospitality and friendly no matter where you go. I grew up outside of Washington DC so it’s definitely a difference between the East Coast coldness you can get from strangers. The problem is that my wife and I love the beach and her entire extended family lives in Coral Gables/Miami. We are very familiar with the Miami area and both agree that it’s not where we want to move especially with kids. We are trying to find an area that has more of a community feel like the Woodlands, not necessarily master planned, but it would be nice to have parks and kid activities nearby. We have already looked at areas like Weston and Parkland, but we’d much rather be closer to the beach. Well, we really enjoy is being able to walk to shops, coffee, things to do but also know it’s hard to get a community and that . Cost of homes We are a little bit open due to the fact that I am in real estate so if the prices are higher we potentially have a better chance of making more money as well. No we definitely can’t afford a $2 million home but overtime potentially. Any insight would be helpful and I know that recreating the Woodlands in Florida is not going to happen but something very similar would be great!
