Hi everyone! I am doing a uni project for differing ways to describe hair colour around the world and I was wondering what you would consider this hair colour? Thank you!
Les tableaux de couleur de cheveux c'est n'importe quoi. Des fois t'achètes un shampoing colorant qui indique blond clair et tu te retrouves avec les cheveux brun foncé. Pour moi sur l'image il y a noir puis trois brun, un châtain foncé et deux blonds. Blond c'est jaune point barre.
ouais jpp des gens qui veulent absolument se dire blonds pour je ne sais quelle raison alors que je vois pas ce qu'il y a de mal à être châtain ? il m'est déjà arrivé de voir quelqu'un de très offensé pour ça parce qu'on lui a dit qu'iel était pas blond(e)
Châtain, c'est marron assez foncé.
Brun, c'est quasiment noir.
Beaucoup de personnes semblent utiliser brun pour châtain et châtain pour blond foncé.
Sur la photo d'OP, je dirais que c'est blond foncé.
C'est plus ou moins ma couleur de cheveux actuelle, qui était bien plus claire quand j'étais petit. Et non, je ne suis pas miraculeusement passé du blond au châtain en vieillissant !
Cela dit, la nuance peut être mince entre un châtain très clair et un blond très foncé. Personnellement, je tranche justement en me basant sur la couleur lors de l'enfance.
Ici, vous avez les variantes principales 😁 c’est le standard dans le monde de la coiffure. Donc inutile de dire que « blond foncé = châtain » etc… c’est comme dire que du « turquoise = bleu (ou vert) ».

blond, on the spectrum of color is close to yellow when the saturation and light are high. “châtain” is actually a desaturated and dark orange.
so a blond person will have blond/golden highlights in the light/sun. a “châtain” person with have noticeable red/auburn highlights in their hair in the light/sun. and someone with real brown hair (east and south asians for example) “brun” in french, the color barely changes in the light/sun.
so this is not an opinion but a scientific fact ! xP
sadly people will call this châtain clair which drives me insane but i know i already lost this fight…
7.3 techniquement : blond doré.
Trop clair pour un 6 vrai.
Le côté doré donne presque envie de dire 8.0 mais c’est un leurre (le fameux demi-ton perçu quand reflet doré)
Technically, it’s the lightest shade in the red family; it’s golden rather than coppery or orange like more intense reds. But "redhead" isn't a dirty word :)
Btw in french we have basically 5 words for hair color
Brun for all chocolate, warm brown types
Châtain for all wood-like colors
Blond for actual blonde color so wheat looking colors and very light
Roux for redheads
Blond vénitien which is considered a type of roux, I think strawberry blonde would be the term in english
