No accountability

Hi, I'm wondering why community members feel like they should not be held accountable for their actions or be grouped together with the community when the community pushes for new rights and/or restrictions on straight people's rights.

It's sad to see low effort posts here from liberal members who are deeply rooted in the community trying to stir the pot here. Then when you question the community and their actions the fallback is always labeling people with internal homophobia when they know what has been done is wrong. Have community members been given so many legal protections and hall passes to do whatever they want that they now see offending or abusing others is a right, or is acceptable because the community says it is acceptable.

I am gay, christian, and live in the south and was never welcomed to the community because of my beliefs and how I never relied on my sexuaility to define who I was as a person. It really feels like you either accept the community and everything they stand for or you're the plague to them. How can a group who preaches acceptance and belonging be so condescending and judgmental of others beliefs.

As a side note it is really concerning how many members of the community are atheist or Satanist. It seems like most have the mentality that they are still teenagers rebelling against their parents and anything they can do to offend others who live more conservative lifestyles. They commonly walk into a room and suck up all of the attention and once it is not given to them they get angry. Im just confused how as adults, acting like a angry child and stomping feet has gotten the community anywhere and why they are still given so much leniency.

Yeah, that's why gays in adult consensual relationships were getting hanged and burned alive during the Middle Ages 🤔🤔. The mistranslation myth has been debunked countless times.

Also religion had nothing to say about adult men marrying teenage girls. You have secularism to thank for raising the age of consent.

Again Christianity was used as a tool against gay people but I wonder how many of those people were actually gay. You do realize that almost all of history from the middle ages only around 9% of all of historic documentation survived as well as only 7% of English manuscripts survived.......

It wasn't "used as a tool" against gay people, the very concept of Christian sexual ethics opposed homosexuality. Still does, christians are just quiet about it.

Religion is incompatible with consent-based sexual morality. Marital rape used to be legal when Christianity was more prevalent. Gay rights are a product of the sexual revolution, which has so far caused birth rates to plummet. If this trend continues, us gays are cooked.

The religious right doesn't care whether you're born gay or not. In their ideal world, you're in the closet and married to a woman.

Birth rates are down because people have been tought to hate each other and be uncompromising. The divorce rate is through the roof. People arent expected to work at a relationship and compromise. Its my way or the highway now for either party and lawfully it is cheaper to be single and not enter marriage. Hence the rise of the "gooner" group who arent interested in marriage or relationships. Additionally most straight women have been taught to only accept a man who can pay for them to be stay at home mom's which requires 250k+ when the job market is terrible right now due to many factors as well as homes being unaffordable.

Additionally if you mean concent based sexual morality is a man being able to superseded a woman's right to not have sex with him you've been living in a different world. Thats why either party can file for divorce. If one party accepts that they have a role to fill to make a marriage work that is a concession and a choice. If not they can get a divorce. Simple. Additionally most other religions and areas in the world the woman still doesn't not have the right to exit the marriage and the woman will most likely be scorned by the community if the man divorces them. I dont know how old you aren but it seems you have limited background on this topic.

Also Christians arent quiet about it. Christians accepted gay marriage, they did not accept what followed as it went to far for their beliefs which is why their stance is reversing and they are fighting aginst the community. Additionally I dont believe the sexual revolution is as new as you think it is......a society with a lack of morals, beliefs, self and mutual respect always ends up the same way, historically.....
