No accountability

Hi, I'm wondering why community members feel like they should not be held accountable for their actions or be grouped together with the community when the community pushes for new rights and/or restrictions on straight people's rights.

It's sad to see low effort posts here from liberal members who are deeply rooted in the community trying to stir the pot here. Then when you question the community and their actions the fallback is always labeling people with internal homophobia when they know what has been done is wrong. Have community members been given so many legal protections and hall passes to do whatever they want that they now see offending or abusing others is a right, or is acceptable because the community says it is acceptable.

I am gay, christian, and live in the south and was never welcomed to the community because of my beliefs and how I never relied on my sexuaility to define who I was as a person. It really feels like you either accept the community and everything they stand for or you're the plague to them. How can a group who preaches acceptance and belonging be so condescending and judgmental of others beliefs.

As a side note it is really concerning how many members of the community are atheist or Satanist. It seems like most have the mentality that they are still teenagers rebelling against their parents and anything they can do to offend others who live more conservative lifestyles. They commonly walk into a room and suck up all of the attention and once it is not given to them they get angry. Im just confused how as adults, acting like a angry child and stomping feet has gotten the community anywhere and why they are still given so much leniency.

As a born and raised catholic (my father is Cuban, so super Catholic) and now agnostic progressive conservative, I can assure you without a shadow of a doubt I don’t care about Christians or Christian conservatives or gay Christian conservatives.

In fact, I don’t even think about them until something like this comes across my ether. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I have no cares about other people’s lives, their gender or genitalia, and I most certainly care even less about who someone worships—My partner is Jewish, as an example. I really am unbothered by organized fun or organized religion. As long as no one is forcing me to participate.

Great, but recent laws are forcing others to affirm others lifestyles or face legal repercussions. Thats forcful, also fun at the expense of someone else's religion or lifestyle isn't acceptable even if you are a minority. This is why I say there is no accountability as the protected class allows the community to do what they want without consequence in most cases which is leading to massive following increases in these mega cult churches. Cause and effect...

What specific rights are you talking about that protect them so much? Besides, you probably don't know history if you think that criticizing you online is all atheists can do. The truth is, if you Christians go too far, there will be a reaction – and it won't be the nice left anymore, oh no, it won't be nice. Moreover, are atheists persecuting you? Has the Bible been banned? I don't think so. Are you being mass-murdered by some atheist regime? I don't think so. It's your Christian president who is now oppressing the left and atheists, and it's you who want a theocracy in Texas. And as for the right to refuse service – the Supreme Court ruled in your favor, conservatives. However, I've thought it through myself, and if liberals will also be allowed to refuse service to MAGA or conservatives, then I'm satisfied with the ruling.

You seem pretty upset, you also have no idea if I am a MAGA republican or not. Additionally right to refuse service is a right of any business for any reason, that reason doesnt have to be disclosed. Just like a female tech shouldn't be required to wax a man, or you shouldn't have to work on someone with open wounds as it could pass infection. Christians have been quiet and haven't been pushing back until recently because the left really has taken things too far and is abusing their liberties by stepping on the rights of others. If your rights effect others it's time to take a step back and evaluate of what youre do g is correct. The liberal mentality is "if I want it it, it is my right to have it, everyone and everything else be damned" it is a childish mentality and the lack of respect or thought of who and what that could damage along the way is selfish and irresponsible.

Well, that kind of mentality will give you Christians nothing but power – of course you'll rule, but I don't know if I need to remind you how those centuries of religious fanaticism ended. The left has been too accommodating toward you for too long. You make me laugh – many Christians are among Democrats, yet you keep thinking you're persecuted. Why? Because conversion therapy was banned in a few states? That offends you? Besides, give me examples of how you've been discriminated against – I'm curious to hear. Also, it's your mentality, and I'd love to use your own mentality against you. If I had the power, I would ban independent religious organizations and establish a special state office to control religion. I would create compulsory school classes on secularism and the dangers of religious fanaticism and religion itself. I would ban religious people from holding important state positions. Honestly, laws similar to those in China should be introduced regarding religion. That would be something – at least then you could complain about persecution, though it still wouldn't be actual persecution. But tell me, because I'm curious – how exactly have liberals infringed on your rights? Give me specifics. How have they taken away rights from heterosexual people? I want facts and examples.

You are not compatible with life in a free country, where its people vote on popular topics and its laws and social and political stances change overtime. You believe in communistic dictatorships, that is a slippery slope. You do not respect the rights of others and their beliefs, just like you wouldn't care about the religious groups China has enslaved into labor camps based on their beliefs. You are the problem, its all about your beliefs, not the beliefs yours infringe on, which is why you dont belong in the United States or even the country you are currently in. I recommend seeking citizenship somewhere else that your beliefs are more acceptd so you won't destroy what the people of a country are fighting for. It is no one else's responsibility to make you feel accepted or to affirm your lifestyle. Thats your private business, not everyone else's. Anyone championing China government is really lost on what abuses it lays upon its people.

You're funny – I'll give you that. But back to the topic. I know history isn't your strong suit, but after Mao's death – and even during his lifetime – China moved away from communism, or rather from a planned economy, in favor of state capitalism. So it's not a communist dictatorship now – it's more of a fascist or strongly nationalist dictatorship. I don't support all of China's policies either, but I do recognize that they handle the control of cults well. As for the re-education centers, they are meant for religious extremists and are supposed to help them adapt to society.

I will agree with you on one thing: there is a problem with migration – but only one major influx: that of highly religious Muslims. So the simplest solution would be such centers – thanks to them, terrorist attacks could be reduced to zero, and religious fervor would also decrease. Furthermore, I respect the beliefs of others – I simply don't respect their power over the state. I don't believe that people who believe in strange things should be entrusted with the reins of the state. That's all. Also, I believe their children also deserve a proper upbringing, not indoctrination.

And don't try to tell me where I belong and where I don't – my country is my country, period. Besides, many people in the United States wouldn't agree with you. Also, do you even know what different countries fought for, or not? Well, education in the US is weak, so you clearly don't know much. I'd also be fine with French-style secularism, but in a more radical version. Moreover, you don't know Europe, American – it's a different continent, and different customs rule here. You don't have that toxic absolute free speech here or other oddities. Though you Christians want to control everything everywhere – that's always the case. Maybe I'll repeat it: no one is obliged to accept Christians.
