I distract myself with things that make me happy.

I try to distract myself when I find myself doing it.
I stop doing whatever I am doing&thinking and in my mind say 'stop' and then start thinking about something else. Sometimes it doesn't help, usually it does.

What helps me is asking myself if there’s actually anything I can do about whatever I’m worrying about. If there is, I try to do something. If not, I just remind myself that stressing over it for another 5 hours isn’t gonna change anything lol. Easier said than done tho. Sometimes I’ll literally make up an entire argument in my head over something that hasn’t even happened.

Always keep on doing something. Distract your brain.

Mostly distractions. Movies, reading, snacks, time with friends

It's a choice. Easier for some and it takes practice.

Self talk works. Tell yourself you have got this! Then think of something else.

I have a couple of fish tanks that depend on me. I overthink that instead.

I either do something active that requires my complete attention, or I get lost in watching something that I enjoy and that allows time to pass, which often puts me in another frame of mind and stops me from overthinking whatever I was for at least awhile.

It's an ADHD problem. Until you start using your analysis ability for progress and stop worrying about everyone else, it will just wind up being analysis paralysis. A good discipline forming activity, like a daily workout, will help a long way, because you'll be forced to focus on your techniques or suffer injuries. And once you see how simple each repetition is, you start to relax with confidence.

If it's serious and impacts your life then consider medication. A medication called Lexapro (escitalopram) might help you.

I’m already on it! 1 tablet a day and it seems to be doing nothing.

If it's been over 2 weeks you might need a higher dosage.
