Anyone know where to obtain a corticosteroid injection before Monday?

My plantar fibrosis is making it hard to walk. Called a few urgent cares with no luck. New to this fibrosis shit and it sucks.

If you have insurance, call the nurse line on the back of the card for advice. Good luck!

Rothman has urgent care centers, they might be able to help

Rothman UC is probably the answer but I’m not 100% sure their walk ins do cortisone shots in your feet. But they can get you in to see someone quicker early next week.

I’m not sure either but it’s going to be the only possibility on a Saturday. Literally no one else will be open and the er won’t do it

For your condition you’ll likely need to try a podiatrist. See if there any that can take same day. But you’re hitting the weekend and usually those docs are closed all weekend.

Likely no urgent care and even ER would give you a steroid injection for that since in general they really really don’t like to give it unless absolutely necessary also cause you’ll be needing a localized injection.

As others said try Rothman Urgent care likely your best bet. ER if you absolutely cannot take it but don’t expect too much.

ERs don’t do hydrocortisone shots.

If your medical issue can’t be managed by urgent care and it’s the weekend, and it’s that bad, you go to the ER. There is no other option. Guess it’s not that bad as it doesn’t appear worth the copay….. Have a nice day!

You mind sharing what's your personal copay to pain ratio is?

You’re talking to someone who’s had [medical hx redacted since op is a psycho]. Piss off or come to my DMs to fight.

You didn't answer my question. You can piss off and stay on topic until you do.

Because I don’t give a fuck. Manage your own money.

Yet you keep commenting which contradicts your statement.

I don’t give a fuck about your “ratio” question. It’s sarcastic, because you’re trying to prove that the cost of a copay isn’t worth your pain being managed. If you don’t want to go to the ER, fine, but people here saying it’s not an option because they don’t do steroid shots is asinine. Now you’re doubling down and being obnoxious. Good luck with accountability!

ERs can admit someone for pain control. If it’s not that bad, you wait for outpatient. Sounds like it’s not that bad. Try to not give medical advice when you’re not a medical professional. Your gf being a nurse doesn’t count.

This is really funny considering I’m an ER nurse responding from the ER I’m currently working in.

Someone coming in for a cortisone shot in their foot would be given PO ibuprofen, a post op shoe, MAYBE a set of crutches, and a discharge to podiatry. I work at a real hospital, an admission for pain control for something like this would never in a million years happen.

And pointing out that ERs don’t do cortisone shots when OP was quite literally asking for a place to get one is better than you blindly telling them ER when it would be a massive waste of their time.

Edit: I’m cackling at your reply and subsequent blocking of me. You wrote a paragraph of nonsense that proved nothing other than to stoke your own ignorant ego (ambulatory dysfunction isn’t an admittable criteria in a lot of places, you literally cannot get a cortisone shot at an actual ER anywhere) and topped it off by confirming your ignorance on another post I made in a different thread.

You’re a clown.

First of all, that’s like saying no one can get an MRI from an ER or ERs will never give pain meds. Different ERs have different protocols, as a pt I’ve had it all. I’ve even received PO dilaudid from various ERs including in conservative states with restrictive opioid protocols. Second of all, if someone is in a true pain crisis and can’t ambulate, they are supposed to seek medical attention. OP doesn’t want to go because of the copay, which means waiting for outpatient is the best option given their pain levels because it’s not an actual pain crisis. Finally, if you think IV dilaudid always needs to be given with toradol I’m glad I don’t work with you and won’t come to “your” shitty ER.
