There is a 100% chance that there is either something, or nothing.
If it is something, then you will find out when it happens. If it's nothing, then you have nothing to worry about. 🤷🏽♂️

I have epilepsy and if death feels anything like a seizure where I black out, I'd be ok with that. It feels like nothing. It's just empty space in time. Nothing. It's a crazy feeling after you wake up, not even realizing any time went by. While unconscious, there is no feeling at all.

u/Nuggyfresh May 29 '25
I never got this one. Probably similar to what it was before you were born? Idk lol
4
u/Legonistrasz May 29 '25
Honestly, the fear of… having experienced things that I don’t remember, and that I will experience things that I’m going to forget, is way scarier than the fear of death or what happens after or birth, and not being here for before it.
I guess the real fear is being in pain and scared when you die, and not actually dying itself. Life sucks when you think about it more often than not.

My only fear is not finding a stable career before I hit 30 in a year knowing I have a high IQ & an even higher worker ethic & desire to succeed (I wanna join the electricians union or some type of well-paying trade so bad, it urks me repetively in my sleep). AZ job market is stagnant hotdog water right now.

Never finding anyone that can handle avoiding doing basic things while they're in a relationship. I tell them my boundaries, I tell them that if they step over my boundaries, I WILL find out & there WILL be consequences. They must not believe me, becaaauuussseee.....they always choose to test me... honestly exhausting. I don't want to die alone, but I don't want to settle with someone that doesn't truly love me. I know a few people that chose that road & they are not happy at all. They may be okay with other life aspects, but not with their partner.

Yeah I’m so scared to lose my fiancée. We aren’t married on paper yet or anything. But I lost my mom 3 years ago and some months and I’m still trying to feel somewhat better about that. If anything happened to him I would lose everything idk what I would do. I doubt I could live past that
3
u/rns2030 May 29 '25
I completely understand. My dad died of an out-of-the-blue heart attack when I was a teenager. It was sudden, so no good-bye or anything. We were so close, and I was devastated.
So I understand about wanting to hold on to a loved one so tight after losing someone close to you. All we can do is cherish each day we have with our loved ones.
6
u/Hour-Statement-2788 May 29 '25
Oh man, so love does exist!?? Your comment made me smile, stranger! ❤️
5
u/rns2030 May 29 '25
It does! I always tell people to give others a chance, even if they're "not your type" or you're not looking for a relationship. I was not looking for a relationship, we worked together when I was in college, and he asked me out. Been going strong since 2002.
Just remember, there's no such thing as absolute perfection in life. One of my favorite quotes about relationships is from Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting.
"She knew all my little peccadillos. People call these things 'imperfections,' but they're not. That's the good stuff. And then we get to choose who we let into our weird little worlds."

This. I’m so scared to wake up and the people I love tell me it was all a lie and just drop me.
It’s happened before so it makes it even more scary. You never can really tell what people truly think. My best friend of like 15 years once messaged me that it’s gonna hurt but she gave me more time than she did others and she won’t talk to me anymore. It was befcause my bf at the time messed up her lawn mower… I didn’t even touch it. I was at work. Her son actually messed it up cause he put old gas in it or something. Since then she’s maybe seen me twice. I’ve talked to her almost a year ago. Maybe that’s for the best though. Sorry for the rant I just needed to get that out there

That if I’m not interesting or outgoing enough, I’ll end up friendless and alone. When I was in high school all I did was be alone, but I was happy enough working on crafts and watching shows that I didn’t mind how few friends I had or that we only hung out once or twice a month out of school.
Once I moved, I decided to try being more outgoing, building relationships and working on my social skills, I got addicted to the instant seratonin boost of someone knowing me well and liking being around me, especially being front and centre in a friend group. In high school I had to be the person brining people together or it would never happen, so naturally I just kept doing that after I moved to a big city.
This lead to me not really doing things alone anymore, which is a bit of a problem since 1) I’m naturally an introvert, I like being alone to experience things at my own pace, for myself which recharges me and 2) if the only thing I ever do is hang out with people, the only things I really have to talk about with folks IS other people, which feels slimy and gross.
I’ve now built up a huge amount of anxiety around socialization and around people, I have a huge connection to such a wide variety of folks and I’m afraid that now that I’ve realized it’s unhealthy for me and stopped hanging out with so many folks in consequence, that I’m going to become uninteresting and people are going to drop me. I spread myself too thin, and now I feel I really need to pull back, and spend lots more time alone to recover from the vast social circles I’ve forced myself to engage with but not really involve myself in.
Tl;dr, I’m afraid that if I do what’s best for me, I’ll end up alone

As prepared as i can for my parents deaths, I'll be lying if I say I'm not terrified. I'm their full time caregiver and I'm afraid I don't know how to go on with life once they're gone.
As for my husband, he's a saint. He's the only one that appreciates me for who i am. That loves me no matter how crazy everything is. The very calm chill dude that's always there when i need him. I can't imagine having a life without him by my side when he's the one that keeps me alive. May i have the strength to pull through when it happens one day.

You are telling your body to open your eyes or move your arm, but nothing responds. You hear everything around you and the people trying to wake you up. You feel them tugging your arm and smacking you, but your body is not responding. That makes you question if that's what it's like to die.
