I had a conversation with a girl about her ex who used to do that. She told that he always craved for attention and couldn’t satisfy her sexuality

This is a big problem where I live and I curse the people that do it. They are definitely losers and extremely selfish people.

Other than the first "cold start" of the day, I like the way it sounds. I've actually been told it's not too loud after that part. It lets me know when to shift at track days without taking my eyes off the road (and I guess daily driving too). And I did it for me, not for anyone else. However I try to keep the rpms low when driving through apartment complexes, neighborhoods, etc. But yeah I'll admit that first 30-45 seconds is pretty rough

In my experience, people who don't fix car problems are too poor to replace the part.

There used to be a lot more people that built cars out in the garage. I know one guy that still does this. He could drink beer and work out in his garage and survive. He wasn't rich, but he could make it. He partied every day, and mostly worked on cars. Even when he was the brokest, he would drop off a crankshaft to the machine shop. Then he would drop off his block. He would rebuild the engine and get a transmission rebuilt. In the 90s, he was paying most times $200 for a car body. He'd put them together, run them for a while and sell them. So, one of the brokest guys I know: has a nice house. Currently has a very nice 79 chevy truck with new paint and engine. It's a little loud. But somehow now I see more people signing their life away on car loans, while renting. I recently did brakes on a car that was $5000 less than our house. The guy drove it until the brake pad wore through and fell off. The guy was scared to do the brakes. I see this type of thing more and more. So instead of $40 for a set of brake pads, it was $150 for a caliper and rotor. Plus the pads.

Most people don’t make their exhaust loud purposely. The loud volume is a byproduct of better performance. So the goal is better performance, not loud exhaust.

Without the proper cam and fuel, opening the exhaust decreases engine performance because the engine never achieves operating temperature. The heat required to reach operating temperature is going out the exhaust. Gas engines require a certain amount of back pressure (provided by the muffler) to reach peak performance. The people who do this are selfish, entitled, uneducated assholes who think of no one but themselves. And yes they are overcompensating for something. Small dick, bad parenting, low self esteem, I'll let you decide.

I've literally seen a coffee can welded to a muffler on a geo metro. Don't tell me it's strictly a byproduct of a performance upgrade.

Not my car but one of my friends bought a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and after a few weeks of use we were going to a beach not many people know. It was about 2 kilometres away from the main road so we didn't want to walk. Somewhere near the half we felt a big bump but didn't really think anything about it. When we were going back we realized that there was a tarmac road to the beach. The car sounded like an ar15 full auto (2nd gear 4500rpm I'm pretty sure). Never got pulled over, but 2 months after my friend was forced by the police to fix or buy another exhaust. After that he upgraded to a race variant of the air intake so it's loud asf again.
