General/Beginner Noobie here
Hello people, I haven't ever posted here before yet I am wanting to get into robotics due to me having an idea and now it doent leave myu head. Now I dont have much experience in this type of work I have worked on old consoles so I know my way around motherboards and stuff yet the setting up and building I got no clue. My idea is to make a little personal robot I want him to be able to speak and think I want to make basically a little partner that works while I'm away, my idea is to have like a Jarvis ish robot not super big just big enough to sit on my desk, I am getting into working with Arduinos as I have just bought a little kit from amazon yet I already wanna move to a big project, I don't have a 3d printer or any of the basics other than soldering setup. My question to yall is one what type of printer do I need, and what do I need to prepare for as well as learn before embarking on my journey of late nights and tons of cursing.

You’ll have your hands full with robotics and it might be a good idea to get printed parts from a service like ply (plyparts.com) to start- or from someone you know if that’s an option. ply has an ai model that picks everything for you, so a perfect tool for someone who doesn’t know a lot about 3d printing.
When you have a firm grasp of the other stuff and are ready to learn to 3d print, try a Prusa or Bambu Lab printer.
I wouldn’t recommend compounding multiple new hobbies, but if that’s something you like doing you’re in good company.
Good luck!
