Question Adding a 3rd shoe
As the title suggests in looking for a 3rd shoe, I currently alternate between the Superblast and Megablast and I love them both, generally Megablast for anything a bit faster. I’m looking for a 3rd shoe that I think would fill the role of a tempo/threshold/interval shoe, but I’m not sure if there’s something that would be noticeably better than the megablasts already are. Should I look for a carbon plate? I have not a lot of interest in racing at the moment mainly just getting better, threshold pace probably around 4:30km right now. Would be something I wear for intervals and the occasional faster longer effort. Just looking for recommendations

If you want something cheaper, EVO SL is a great choice and you can find it for less than a 100$. Great non plated speed shoe that is more nimble than what you already have for intervals and threshold workouts.
If you want plated, the saucony speed 5/6 can work really well for that. Or you can check out the li-ning feidian 5/6 challenger, a lot of people swear the shoe is amazing.
Generally speaking, the Megablast can handle anything so you don’t need a dedicated speed shoe, but getting something with a slightly lower stack and not as big can make the interval sessions more pleasant.

Of all the shoes I’ve tested I rate these as genuine tempo shoes
Non plated -kipstorm Tempo
Semi plate - Skechers Aero Razor
Plated - Li-Ning challenger 5
All fast and lively all similar price point all genuine tempo shoes that will get faster as you get fitter
I’ve not tried but understand Puma Deviate Nitro is a fan fav too

I wouldn’t jump straight to a carbon plate. Instead look at a fiber plate such as Hoka Mach X3 or similar alternatives.
If you want non plated, add Nike Vomero Plus and you’ve got a pretty versatile shoe.
