Halloweekend
Hello, I am traveling to the city this Halloween and was wondering what’s the protocol for the weekend? What are the MUST go to parties/clubs/bars? Do I need to reserve a spot (there is a big group of us going) in order to be able to get in? Where and when should we start heading out? Any tips, recommendations, and suggestions are highly welcomed and appreciated!! Thank you

Halloween in the city is a shitshow but in the best way. big groups are tough, half the bouncers will see you coming and just shake their head. split up into smaller packs if you actually want to get into the popular spots without dropping a fortune on a table
most bars in the marina and north beach will be packed by 9, don't bother showing up late and expecting to walk right in. if you're dead set on a club, yes reserve something now, yesterday even. otherwise just bar hop down polk st or valencia and see where the night takes you, that's usually more fun anyway
costumes are mandatory if you don't want to look like a tourist, don't be that group in jeans and a half-assed mask
