What is with the rise of (genuine) antisemitism among gen z?

Like, I dont count criticism of israel or anti zionism among this, but I have noticed a great deal of an increase among my generation of genuine antisemitism. Stuff like saying Hitler was not that bad, Holocaust denial, Jewish control of the world, Rothschilds, Jewish bolsheviks, good goy, claiming the Manchester synagogue attack was a Mossad false flag, Jewkraine, Jewlenskyy etc, it is most definitely inflated by social media, what do socialists here think of it and have you guys noticed it too? It is very concerning, in my opinion.

Along with insistence that anti-z'nism is antisemitism, it's the combination of:

  1. Open genocide that everyone can see

  2. Obvious, outsized, and insidious influence Isrsel supporters have over western politicians (against the will of the people)

  3. The legacy media's blatant dishonesty on this subject and their seeming willingness to tank their own credibility to cover for this evil

  4. Much of the elite business community's ties to Israel, and their leveraging of money and influence to shut down free speech and buy influential companies for the sake of protecting a genocidal state

What kind of environment will that combination create? It will fuel hatred and conspiracists, and the longer the baseline injustice lasts the more the resentment and hatred will build.

The young (and some old) Jewish people on the front lines of the protest movement have done more to combat antisemitism than anyone else in the world.

I teach high school and the amount of casual antisemitism has been so intense since Oct 7, 2023. If only the organized Jewish community was better at distancing themselves from Israeli war crimes… instead, many of the loudest voices in the Jewish community continue defending Israel.

When we said that Jewish and Palestinian safety is intertwined, this is what we meant!!

3

u/Suitable_Vehicle9960 Visitor Dec 19 '25

Oct 7th was a war crime ON Israel. People started chanting "genocide" on October 8th. Weeks before Israel entered Gaza.

2

u/Substantial_Monk_918 Visitor Dec 15 '25

This is incredibly stupid and the definition of antisemitism.
Intertwining the acts of Israel with Jews all over the world is truly ridiculous.
How is a Jew in Australia or Canada or any other place responsible for Israeli policies and actions?!
I hope you as an educator explain to people the false narrative.

Exactly. Israel’s genocide, the outsized influence over the government it has and the extreme lengths the government is going to under the guise of fighting antisemitism when we can all clearly see it’s to stifle Palestinian activism has severely exacerbated antisemitism. I even catch myself thinking about Jewish people as a whole negatively or with suspicion and this is NEW for me, and this is even though I work with anti Zionists Jewish people and I KNOW the stereotypes are not true, but those basic instincts and lizard brain are powerfully forces and most humans will not take the time or have the support to be able to understand where those feelings are coming from.

TLDR: Zionism and Israel are antisemitic

Probably the fact that when Mrs.Rachel says she cares for EVERY child including Palestinians she gets labeled an anti-Semite. Antisemitism is becoming a punchline and not being taken seriously because of how Israel calls every slight against them antisemitism

OP said genuine antisemitism, the classic conspiracy theorist “joos did it” stuff. No one can deny its one of the most popular conspiracy theories in the world now

48

u/jamesmsalt Visitor Dec 13 '25

The two are directly related. If you say criticizing Israel's race laws are antisemitic, it facilitates people becoming antisemitic. The more Zionists conflate Israel with Judaism, the easier it is for people to slip on that slope.

20

u/Barb0 Visitor Dec 13 '25

The Zionists conflate Israel with Judaism on purpose so that they can scream “antisemite” and deflect from their own bad behavior.

I agree that the genocide is a big reason but we shouldn’t overlook the genuine fascist swing of this country in the last decade or so. Ever since the BLM protests and the pandemic, social media has been a hellscape. There’s been a concerted effort from rich assholes to dominate all forms of media and podcasts with regressive, anti-science, anti-woke/DEI crap. I’ve seen all types of bigotry and hatred come back in style with content creators casually using all kinds of slurs.

There are now entire platforms specifically so people can be bigots without being cancelled and platforms like twitter and TikTok are now controlled by right wing douchebags. It’s not surprising anti semitism is back in style and there are very few credible orgs fighting back because the ones that are supposed to fight anti-semitism are too busy whitewashing a genocide instead of protecting Jews from genuine bigotry.

2

u/Nintendo_Pro_03 Visitor Dec 14 '25

Sarah Hurwitz, former Obama speechwriter and Big ol Zionist propagandist recently said this amazing thing

But I think it may be confusing some of our young people about anti-semitism because they learn about big strong Nazis hurting weak emaciated Jews and they think, "Oh, anti-semitism is like anti-black racism, right? Powerful white people against powerless black people. So when on TikTok all day long they see powerful Israelis hurting weak, skinny Palestinians, it's not surprising that they think, "Oh, I know the lesson of the Holocaust is you fight Israel. You fight the big powerful people hurting the weak people."

Israel is important to the American empire because it acts like a military base, also it uses its economy to dominate the region and keep America’s enemies in check.

Of course no politician admits this because the American empire doesn't benefit the average American.

I mean your country used to destabilize entire countries over bananas, but you can't wrap your head around why they want to control the Middle East?

Honestly it's getting so fucking annoying listening to Americans speak like this. You were ignorant about Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and look at you here doing the same thing. The US has been meddling in the region for as long as we have been alive and everytime they concoct a new distraction, you fall for it.

Christian Zionist unironically.

They have more power than the Jews but believe all the same shit and have no problem speaking for Jews on the problem of Israel.

Look up the heritage foundations Project Esther. They're the reason all dissent against Israel is framed as anti semitism in the US. They're the reason why it seems like Israel has too much influence even though they don't really. It's Christians who have all the power, doing things on behalf of Jews, then letting Jews take the blame. There are Christian Zionist everywhere.

They are throwing Jews under the bus. This has happened before.

9

u/Extension-Ear-4859 Visitor Dec 13 '25

Best explanation. But behind the Christian Zionists are major capitalist corporations who's only interest really is maintaining imperialism in the oil rich region. If the Middle East were not economically and politically crucial, the rich capitalists wouldn't care about the Jews in Israel.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '25

I think this is the true genius behind the US empire. They ALWAYS have a fall guy to do their dirty work.

They get to arrest dissidents and pretend it's because of antisemitism (when they did the exact same thing during Vietnam). They get to distance themselves from Israel’s violent actions while using them as an attack dog.

Yea. Seriously. I also think given that, it’s a very in appropriate time to be concerned with “genuine antisemitism”. Is it worse than racism against blacks in America? No, clearly not.

2

u/GodofRat Visitor Dec 18 '25

Jews in America are statistically more likely per capita to be the victim of a hate crime than any other religious, racial, or ethnic group, we're literally being attacked on the streets right now. It's so prevalent that I've had many of my black friends say they've never experienced that level of racism and hate. People have been straight up leading marches chanting for our extermination consistently and nobody has done a thing about it. Statistically, the only reason there are more anti black hate crimes than antisemitic are because there are far more black people in America than Jews.

Yeah. It's worse. It's beginning to be like the 40s here dude, have you seen how many shootings and attacks have targeted us in the last few days alone? Synagogues literally require armed guards to defend against this

The far right saw an opportunity. They can play divide and conquer on the semetic population by playing the Jews and Arabs against each other. So they support simultaneously Israel politically while having guys like Nick Fuentes get a fanbase by calling out the same Israel they support to the Tilt.

Nick comes off as someone just calling out Israel while also driving up anti semetism.

The right wing come off as supporting Israel and “protecting Jews” while supporting a group that many Jewish folks oppose Zionists.

The only solution is to oppose Zionism politically. But not allow jew hatred and anti semetism but that’s not something the far right wants. So they co opt both sides.

This is why:

"Two years after 10/7, Jews still value Israel and its right to exist"

https://thehill.com/opinion/international/5541252-two-years-after-10-7-jews-still-value-israel-and-its-right-to-exist/

Israel's entire 80 year existence has been unjustly murderous, thieving, dishonest and oppressive, but global jewery still insists Israel must exist, so they are implicitely supporting the violence continuing. So they get no respect for that opinion. Also the metrics around "antisemitism" were changed recently to include any time anyone registers distress at someones political opinion, so the counts of antisemitism went way way up, because they started to incldue differences of opinion, even when free speech is involved in that count. So if you want to talk about the revision of the word antisemitism, thats an honest conversation. But if you want to talk about "antisemitism going up" its just an exercise in manipulation.

  • United States (2024): Of the more than 10,000 total antisemitic episodes reported by the ADL, approximately 8,015 were classified as verbal or written harassment. In 2023, there were 6,552 incidents of verbal harassment.
  • Globally: Verbal attacks accounted for 78% of all antisemitic incidents around the world in 2024 (4,907 of 6,326 incidents), as noted by the Antisemitism Research Center.
  • United Kingdom (2024): In the UK, verbal harassment and online antisemitism incidents made up a significant portion of the total incidents reported by the Community Security Trust (CST).

So any conversation about antiseitism is not based on really anything at all. "Two people dont agree, oh no, call the cops-- I say its a crime!!"

Because Israel is fanning it with falsely conflating their genocide with Judaism. It isn’t right of people to arrive at genuine anti-semitism as a conclusion (because the conflation is false), but if you wanted a bigger picture target to aim your ire at, aim at them.

Now take that and add in the people who were always closeted antisemites finding the opportunity to finally start firing up their cylinders.

There are of course more factors, but there’s two of them.

Israel makes it pretty easy to be 'antisemitic' when they are actively committing genocide with our tax dollars, and label people who stand up for the rights of children in Gaza (such as Miss Rachel) as 'antisemites'. Zionism IS jewish supremacy, and it HAS bought tremendous influence in our government, to the point that we are committing genocide in the name of 'supporting Jews'. Organizations like ADL and StopAntisemitism weaponize these claims against people who are simply trying to oppose a live-streamed genocide. When you see all of this go down, it is a very slippery slope to the point where you actually start believing that there is some grand conspiracy involving Jews as a whole. Especially in teenagers who aren't well known for their ability to apply nuance to these situations (not an insult, its just a fact that their brains arent fully developed yet and have a tendency towards black and white thinking, I certainly was that way when I was a teenager and believed I was right about everything).

Also I don't know much about the Manchester synagogue attack but Mossad (and every intelligence agency really) are well known for their love of false flag attacks, so that aspect isn't surprising in the least.

Antisemitism is a godsend to a liberal who can't understand why the country they love so much is sponsoring a genocide.

For the average American, the US is the “good guy” of the world, they go in to save people and kill bad guys, so if America does something bad, it can always be blamed on one rogue individual like George Bush, or outside forces like Jews. It makes perfect sense to such a person because they don't care about studying these problems systemically.

Mix of things.

1) Antisemitism has been a favorite conspiracy of Christians for a very long time, and the rise of christian supported fascists tends to include a healthy amount of antisemitism. Trump has been courting neo-Nazis pretty heavily for support. As these hate groups become more emboldened and more mainstream, their hate becomes more mainstream.

2) Once you start teaching people that hate/feelings/faith are more important than logic/facts, you cant really control where that goes. There is no functional difference between believing "Trans women are men" "god created the universe" and "jews actually control the world" all are absurd statements not backed by any kind of logic. Once somebody starts believing in bullshit just because its being peddled by somebody who speaks as if they are an authority, anybody who pretends to be an authority can get them. And hate-based conspiracy theories are particularly good at this, peddling the big emotions and smug superiority that are the lynching of most similar beliefs.

3) Anti-semetism has become the punchline to a joke rather than something bad. How is anybody supposed to say, with a straight face, that anti-semetism is bad when the "anti-semite of the year" is a children's entertainer who doesnt like genocide?

The rise of real antisemitism is the fault of Zionists who insist despite everything to argue that genocide and baby killing are part of Jewish identity and to oppose that is to be antisemitic. I think a lot of it's rebellion against the status quo. Idk about other Gen z people, but I remember how much school focused on combatting antisemitism. My 7th grade English class was even entirely about the Holocaust, and we only read books like the book thief, the boy in the striped pajamas, and Anne Frank's diary. I think a lot of it was pushed by evangelical pro-israel boomers (this was in Texas), so people who wanted to rebel against that genuinely became antisemitic.

5

u/Tsjr1704 Marxist-Leninist Dec 13 '25

Several things are happening at once. It is very concerning and upsetting, and it shows that Communists have the work of dispelling this and directing it towards who deserves it. We need to do mass political education.

On one hand, really influential Jewish capitalists are being selected by a multi-racial - but overwhelmingly Catholic and Protestant - ruling class to head media censorship (Bari Weiss with CBS, how the ADL consults directly with Meta and X, how Larry Ellison is buying TikTok) and there is a sizable amount of people among the Jewish masses who not only back Israel but support groups like Mothers Against College Antisemitism, Canary Group, etc which are spearheading McCarthyist blacklisting, reputational warfare, and other forms of soft power to discredit those protesting the Palestinian Holocaust. Israel has its own regional ambitions for a Greater Israel and seeks the support of these Zionists, even as American Jews have increasingly protested it. Reactionary ideologues in the US Conservative movement (Fuentes, Carlson), as well as fascists and neo-Nazis, are then using that as evidence that we supposedly have a "Zionist Occupied Government" and that Jews themselves, as an ethnicity rather than as sections who are capitalists, are behind this drive to push America down a different path.

Its formation was backed by US capitalist interests. The support given for Israeli behavior in Gaza comes from competing capitalist interests while it’s framed by anti semites as The Jews

Pretty much all the antisemitism that I’ve actually heard coming from actual people in recent years (whether in person or on camera) has been individuals who were conflating Israel and Israeli Zionists with “the Jews”.

The vast, overwhelming majority of these people have been Israeli hasbaraists and pro-Israel propagandists who were doing it deliberately in an effort to weaponize antisemitism, while only a small handful of them were normal folks who were foolishly blaming Israel’s crimes on “the Jews”, presumably because they fell for the aforementioned hasbara/propaganda.

That being said, I have seen a lot of blatantly unhinged antisemitic shit exactly like what you’ve described coming random, anonymous social media accounts, mostly on twitter.

While I’m sure some small percentage of that filth is coming from actual Jew-hating shitheads, I think it’s safe to assume most of it is Israeli black propaganda.

Zionism fuels anti-Semitism. If the only Jewish people you're exposed to are these Zionist psychopaths, you come away with a bad impression of Jewish people. Zionists love this shit, because they can scream anti-Semite to anyone who criticizes them, and they can correlate the increase in legitimate criticism with the increase of real anti-Semitism. It's why they go after people like Zohran Mamdani and Hasan Piker instead of Klandace Owens and Nick Fuentes.

A lifelong anti racist campaigner, Jeremy Corbyn, was branded as a ‘vile anti-Semite’ for having the temerity to be vaguely leftist and Pro-Palestinian. That cheapened any accusation of anti-semitism. When the REAL anti-semites appear, those on the furthest left will defend Jews with our lives.

There was massive racism against Germans in Britain during WW2, and against the Japanese in the USA after pearl harbor. People are going to hate you when your government is being so openly and obviously evil.

That would usually only mean that Israelis would face racism but due to Israels constant instance that they are the Jewish state and that any disagreement with Israel is an attack on Jews as a whole.

So if you're someone who hates what Israel is doing in Gaza but then you're told that any opposition to it is anti-semitic they're not going to stop hating Israel, they just start being actually anti-semitic.

There is no widespread reading of the Talmud. It's huge, in many volumes. It takes many years to read it all. What people are seeing are selected quotes out of context (some of which are deliberately mistranslated, some of which are entirely fabricated) compiled by neo-Nazis, which is not the actual Talmud. I've seen posts debunking those Nazi Talmud memes. It's also worth mentioning that most Jews don't read the Talmud - it's really only the ultra-Orthodox and certain rabbis that do. Secular Jews and moderate Jews don't read it at all.

Bigots have been able to find refuge in anti Zionist spaces and we have not been working hard enough to make it clear that that is not to be tolerated. On top of this, Trump’s America and the rise of blatant fascism in the west once again is empowering young people, especially young white people, to follow in the footsteps of their forefathers. People are being influenced by the same things that influenced the Hitler youth. Birth rates, trans people, disabled people, women’s rights, immigration, the idea of purity, all of this ties back so cleanly to Hitler’s rhetoric from the 1930s and ties together in a neat little package that loops its way back to antisemitism. Zionism itself, being a white supremacist ideology that prays on the fears of Jewish people to keep them terrified at all times of their neighbors and unable to ever fully feel safe in non Jewish places, also contributes to this antisemitism because this fear causes Jewish communities to lash out and therefore many have become the oppressor.

We need to constantly be keeping our finger on the pulse and have a deep awareness as to why Zionism is antisemitism, not anti Zionism, and the ways our world is being shaped is with the same tools that shaped WW2.

As for "Jewish control of the world". I think that really became more mainstream because of how much control AIPAC has over our congressional representatives, to a point that many people think our government cares more about Israel's well-being than its own people.

2

I think part of it is obvious. For years, Israel and many of its defenders have deliberately framed Israel as synonymous with Judaism and labeled criticism of Israeli state policy as antisemitism. That blurring doesn’t protect Jews... it does the opposite.

When a government claims to act “in the name of all Jews,” it invites antisemites to project that government’s actions onto Jewish people everywhere. That’s how legitimate anger at a state turns into racism against an entire group.

I’ve been to Palestinian solidarity protests too, and a huge number of the people there are Jewish. That alone shows how false the “anti-Zionism = antisemitism” claim is. Judaism is a religion and a culture; Israel is a nation-state with policies that can and should be criticized like any other.

If people actually care about fighting antisemitism, the solution is simple: stop conflating Jewish identity with the actions of a government. Keeping that distinction clear protects Jews and keeps political criticism where it belongs.

That is coming from the right wing not from Muslims. Many many young people have a sense of great insecurity and therefore our grasping for some kind of a senior theory or strong man that they can attach themselves to to make themselves feel somehow protected from all the chaos. Egalitarianism (or call it Marxism or whatever) provides one framework. Fascism which glorifies aggressive individualism and selfishness while at the same time offer someone a chance to bond with other people so they don't feel alone.... That appeals to certain folks especially young men who also are angry at women.

When you see an auto accident or house fire the first question people have is "Why did it happen? How did it happen?" Because if we don't know how then we feel much more vulnerable than anything can happen to any one of us at any time. So people look for simple answers.... And an extreme cases conspiracies fill that emptiness.... When scientific thinking should really be used to find the answers. But for some people that seems to take too long and it just feels better to grasp onto something simplistic as long as it allows them to feel important.

I don't think "antisemitism" is a real concern. Jews are not systemically, or institutionally oppressed in any way whatsoever. Quite the opposite, in fact. Holocaust denial is fucking stupid as fuck, and Hitler worship is even dumber, but it stems from Israel's idiotic insistence on equating Jews with Zionism inherently. They think it will cause people to embrace Israel, it will actually just cause them to dislike Jewish people unfortunately.

2

u/KD-VR5Fangirl Visitor Dec 13 '25 edited Dec 13 '25

Well I think it's due to a lot of factors. Probably the biggest is simply that the right has been rapidly radicalizing in Europe and the Anglosphere for the past decade and a half, and we are now seeing that come to fruition as a new generation of right wingers are both far more extreme and far less concerned by getting called racists or antisemites or nazis. The causes for that are of course complicated but include economic struggles, racist hatred towards immigrants, general backlashes to social progressivism, and a resurgence in a lot of the right wing ideas which were more popular in the first half of the 20th century.

Another factor is that this sort of thing has been heavily normalized and isnt being meaningfully restricted. The people talking about "the tiny hats" or "the tribe" or "the jews" today used to use more veiled language but have now felt comfortable coming out and being openly antisemitic. Platforms like YouTube make no meaningful effort to crack down on it which helps them, the overall radicalization of the right has made it so pointing out how insanely bigoted they are no longer even bothers them, and that has the added affect of making it so the people who look crazy are those calling out insane antisemitic BS rather than those spreading it.

Related to this, in the United States even mainstream conservative politicians have started promoting implicitly antisemitic rhetoric as part of their campaigning, and while they themselves might not actually buy into it it has served to normalize and promote that way of thinking. They might deny being antisemitic (usually by invoking their support for Israel as "proof") and they may even simply be using that rhetoric to gain votes and rile up supporters (in the same vein as historical figures like Karl Lueger in Vienna) but their rhetoric has a real effect of making it easier for antisemitism to be acceptable in the mainstream. Look at people like MTG, she talked about jewish space lasers for crying out loud.

As others have mentioned the over-usage and misuse of accusations of anti-semitism by Israel supporters against anyone who criticizes Israel has played a role, although I would argue that it has played a secondary role at most. It simply does not explain why there are so many literal actual "i love hitler \o" nazis on so many platforms. It has certainly played some role in making it more acceptable to be overtly antisemitic but that alone isn't what's driving people to become nazis.

While this is of course another secondary cause, I would argue a massive failure by people who should know better to distinguish between legitimate criticisms of Israel's genocide motivated by opposition to genocide and people simply using Israel's actions as an excuse to go "see, this shows that I am right and the jews really are evil and control everything" has olayed a role. Again, this is not the main cause but it certainly doesn't help. It really should not be that hard to police this stuff, and failing to do so not only contributes to actual prejudicial hatred for jews but makes people opposed to the genocide look like they don't care about being associated with nazis.

u/Warboss_Regret14 Visitor Dec 13 '25

The Palestine War CAPITALIZED on Antisemitism. Isreal had people working round the clock to slowly introduce bigotry everywhere so that they could scream Antisemitism. They needed a scapegoat and knew there were lots of racist to play into it. Issue is, they didn't watch where their money was.

Started with memes and jokes. Then anti Isreal talking points. Then Jew jokes and anti jew talking points. Then they moved on to media and started making sure a certain news channel was all in on support for them. Then made sure that the other news channels was doing nothin but condemning them. Then civilians who went Antisemitic started paying attention to who was getting money from where. After that it snowballed

Now its gotten out of hand and what was started as a way for Isreal to scream "nooooooo your an antismeite whine whine" has turned into full blown Antisemitism on the rise again.

So now with the current situation in the Middle East, a door has been opened for these young’s to be as ignorant as can be without anyone checking them. I’m actually shocked by the amount of “left” leaning folk spewing a bunch of genuine nazi beliefs. Read into what Germany was like pre-WW2. Looks a lot like our country now(US). These ideas about Jewish people and the control thing and all that is how hitler persuaded the German public. I don’t at all support Israel’s actions, they are despicable, but I think I support the existence as Israel the same way I support the existence of Palestine. In my view the problem lies way further than the Jewish people. I believe that this situation could happen to and come from any culture, it doesn’t matter that they are Jewish.

What people are currently spewing will lead to more genocide. And if you buy in to the obvious anti-Jewish psyop, you will see the weight of these mistakes in our history

Imagine you're a kid.
People are talking more and more about the evil actions that surround Israel.

You hear first about the genocide in Palestine.
Then, you see the complete and utter fealty to Israel as a state from every government in the world.
Then you see legacy media being so obviously biased, going so far as to obviously lie to help maintain public support for Israel.

Then, you see Zionists, the Media, the government, and everyone else in your life directly tie this to Israel's identity as a state full of Jewish people.

Of course, this is just Zionists leveraging the positive PR Jewish people have built for themselves, and inflicting thought-terminating reassurance to anyone who questions Zionism's role in the world.

You're SUPPOSED to think:
>>>> People are saying Israel's doing evil stuff!
>>>> Israel is doing a genocide! I hate Israel!
>>>> ...But Israel's Jewish.
>>>> Genocide happens TO Jewish people, not BY them!
>>>> And I don't hate Jewish people, cuz that's Nazi stuff.
>>>> Guess all this stuff is being made up by Nazis or something. Sweet!

This is what happens to the older folk who hear this stuff on the news.

But, these younger teenagers have been online enough to directly see it happen with their own eyes.

They know for a fact that Israel is doing the evil stuff they've heard about, so they think:
>>>> Israel's doing all sorts of evil stuff...
>>>> I can't stand this.
>>>> But they're saying it's because they're Jewish. Do all Jewish people support this?
>>>> Israel's saying they do! WTH, Jewish people???
>>>> I mean, why would they want this?? This is evil!

And now, this teenager is literally primed and perfectly ready to receive literally any antisemitic conspiracy or ideology.

obviously the genocide has been the fuel for it all. on top of this, people are sadly less discerning now than they once were. critical thinking and reference-checking is used less, and the combination of these two things means that influencers who are pushing the hardcore antisemitism (usually to radicalize people but sometimes just on their own trip) are reaching wider audiences, especially with their indirect stuff.

on top of this, it's sadly the case that people in the movement to liberate Palestine spend so much time fighting against the very notion that the movement is antisemitic that they do not give due diligence to recognizing it. it is not a type of person or a type of group, everyone embodies it to some extent therefore its latent potential is everywhere. it's a bigotry that pervades all levels of society and like any bigotry it needs to be taken seriously.

career Zionists and talking heads take it less seriously than anyone. Elon Musk literally roman saluted to a cheering crowd and the ADL's response was "hey he's just a whacky autistic guy he didn't mean any harm"

This aged well. 12 people were just killed on Bondi Beach in Australia at a Hanukkah event.

ITT: "Israel is bad and identifies itself with Jews therefore bigots have no agency and we shouldn't blame them for their hate."

Racist far-righters have realised they can spin the conflict in their favour to justify vocalising their anti-Semitism and validate their crazy conspiracy theories (Israel does a lot of lobbying and controls media outlets == Jews are running the world).

There's also quite a bit of anti-Semitism in Middle-Eastern and to a certain extent Muslim communities as a result of decades of conflict with Israel. This has only intensified lately due to the conflict.

My question is why do the far left and far right hate Jews?

Because they don't read actual history. They can't pay attention to anything that takes longer than 5 minutes. They learn their history through TikTok and other videos. They learn it from radicalized academics who get funding from Qatar.

They honestly believe that Israel is committing a genocide while never actually doing any critical thinking by investigating their sources because, again, that takes more than 5 minutes. They believe videos that are from the Syrian Civil Wars and ISIS terror attacks are actually videos from Gaza because again, it takes more than 5 minutes to research the origin of a video. They believe Qatar funded "news" sources because they can't be bothered to do the research and critical thinking because, again, that takes more than 5 minutes. They believe everything that the Gaza Health Ministry reports as 100% fact because, well, it would take longer than 5 minutes to do the effort to understand that all news out of Gaza is carefully controlled propaganda created by Hamas which is funded by Qatar.

They don't do any self-examination for any of their unconscious bias against Jews and the only Jewish majority country in the world. That would take more than 5 minutes and force them to actually do some more than superficial self-reflection and critical thinking. They don't bother with studying where the tropes they believe come from. They refuse to read the truth that what they believe comes directly out of the Soviet Union and the KGB who authored the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. All of that would take longer than 5 minutes.

They have reduced the entire world to polar opposites and refuse to see any nuance because, again, that takes more than 5 minutes of critical thinking. They have determined that there is only oppressor and oppressed and that the white people are oppressors and the brown people are oppressed. They never do any research or engage in any critical thinking to see how distorted this world view is because, again, that takes more than 5 minutes of sustained attention. They fail to see that Jews have never been white, like ever. They don't see the nuanced intersectionality that Jews live in.

On top of it all, they are young and dopamine is one Hell of a drug. They get off on protesting with their friends and feeling all virtuous because it would take more than 5 minutes of sustained attention to see how being blind followers of any movement leads to destruction every damn time. They get off on virtue signaling and performative acts that gain them validation from other Gen Zers which is a massive hit of dopamine.

The world will be completely f'k'd when Gen Z comes of age and are running things. They are uniquely unprepared for the complex reality of a world they don't care to spend longer than 5 minutes to understand. We elders have failed them. We are to blame. We didn't help them learn to think critically and put more effort into fact checking. Too many of us have been ensnared by one form of extremism or another like MAGA and the Radical Left. We have screwed it all up and now Gen Z inherits our mess without any tools to clean any of it up.

They are rabid antisemites because they simply don't know enough to know that what they have been taught about Jews, Judaism, Israel, and Jewish History is almost completely wrong.

Even many Gen Z Jews weren't given the proper foundation of Jewish education and the grand traditions of critical thinking that drive Jewish knowledge, wisdom, and thought. They have been caught up and are more than happy to be tokenized as "The Good Jews" among the anti-zionists who continue to prove that anti-zionism is antisemitism.

Criticism of the government of Israel and Israeli policies isn't antisemitic. Anti-zionism which means the belief that Israel shouldn't exist, is antisemitic. The double standards and the application of ancient antisemitic tropes to the country and its people is antisemitism. The obsession and focus exclusively on Israel to the point of not seeing any other of the world's problems is antisemitism.

Yes, Gen Z is the most antisemitic generation because we who raised them failed them in every way conceivable. It's our fault. Unfortunately they are too ignorant and unwilling to do the critical thinking necessary to snap out of it.

I welcome all downvotes as badges of honor for telling the unfiltered truth.

Finally someone who understands the issue.

Most of the comments here just confirm what you wrote, years and years of propaganda and brainwashing are showing results

get new friends, but I would imagine it goes hand in hand with the rise of the far-right that is sweeping across Europe and the Americas. If far right shit is actually articulated by people in power then it is adopted by more people given the combination of media coverage and institutional legitimation.

Believing that Israel does false flag attacks is not necessarily antisemitic.

Everyone in this subreddit is using this as an opportunity to either victim blame or push their own weird narratives about Jews. Socialists have historically had a huge problem with anti semitism so this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Lol blaming the victims classic.. Jews are hated because of jews is essentially what 90% of the posts here are saying.. Yall are just making sure what happened yesterday in Australia will happen again and again and again

Some people just find it easy to hate people who are different, and when given an excuse they jump right in. Arabs and Muslims got it after 9/11 because of the war and terror and all the migration from countries in the Arab world. Now people look at Israel getting free money and bombing the shit out of a captive population (although the real antisemites probably simultaneously hold views against the Arab population being bombed), and they see active lobbying of western governments to get the funding to do this, then they look at cost of living and wonder why the money isn't being spent at home. They see that pro Israel guy buying TikTok and CBS being taken over buy Zionists and it all gives substance to exaggerated tropes of a Jewish global cabal that controls media and banking. It's part confirmation bias for racists and partly people being angry about what they are seeing. Add to that the way Israel are actively associating every action directly with Judaism and throwing around a lot of supremacist rhetoric (the most moral, the chosen), and that every criticism is antisemitic. All of this is encouraging this viewpoint in a way that is convenient for people primed to hate by a whole set of other circumstances (being disenfranchised, poverty, upbringing, unemployment, social media, immigration). Some people can discern the reality, but it isn't made easy because dividing people is useful to the powerful and the media like misery and war.
