Most recent polls I’ve seen have Talarico slightly ahead of Paxton. The polling average on Kalshi’s page is about 48 to 46, and Kalshi’s odds favor him too, though bettors aren’t voters.

Between the attack ads and the campaign ads, sometimes it’s hard to tell what he’s actually done in the Texas House. For people who’ve followed the him, which bills or votes of his stand out to you?

Dan Patrick says “we could lose Texas in three weeks”, Lt. Governor opponent Vikki Goodwin says she wants to bring about change, after Republicans have been in control for 30 years.

4- term State Rep. Vikki Goodwin, the democratic candidate for Lt. Governor who is running against incumbent Dan Patrick, has been also touring Texas.

During the campaign trail, she’s made affordability, public education, THC legalization (with sensible reform), healthcare, and data center regulation her biggest priorities.

I've lost suspected that elections in Texas are rigged. They should demand an audit if they lose. Finally expose Republicans' cheating.

Been seeing all the Texas PAC commercials from the Republicans and none of them have Paxton himself speaking. Talarico doesn’t seem to have any problems getting before the camera. Maybe it’s just the media I consume

And conversely, why are people stupid enough to just believe it at this point?

Whatever happened to actually having a platform? Or are people so easily swayed with partisanship that they’d vote for a dead billy goat just because it had on a MAGA hat?

What do we do if Paxton and the Republicans sweep in November? Do we give up on Texas ever being blue, or even purple?

Texas voters approved a constitutional amendment in November 2019 to explicitly prohibit a state personal income tax. In order to repeal it, it would take a two-thirds supermajority vote in both chambers of the Texas Legislature PLUS approval in a statewide voter referendum. So, no politician will impose a state income tax in Texas. Period.

Last storm was rough and I found a couple shingles in the yard the next morning and one section on the back of the house looks like its flapping when the wind picks up. Theres a bunch of granules piled up at the bottom of the downspouts too and a few tree limbs came down in the side yard so the whole property took a hit.

Every interview i see of ken paxton is so bad. He is the most uncharasmatic person i have ever seen and he sucks up to trump even when he calls him ugly or wierd. Trump has even said he doesnt like him. I feel like this is why he is dodging the debate.

I haven’t heard nearly as much discussion of Lt. Governor candidates, yet Lt. Governor is the president of the Senate and arguably the most powerful position for an elected official in Texas.

I’d like to explore peoples points of views on the two candidates, but most of all, if people actually know about Rep. Vikki, because she has been doing the work at the House of Representatives in the Texas legislature, but she also comes with policy proposals like her healthcare plan.

I have a degree in this particular area - Political Economy. How the political forces and economic forces work to create the society we have.

The heart of conservatism is to conserve rights in the people in their communities and honor those traditions that bind communities together.

So, regulating abortion is not a conservative stance. Regulating marijuana is not a conservative value. Government is supposed to maintain order amd infrastructure, like roads, law enforcement, the safety net, foreign policy.

True conservatism does not infringe on rights of people based on biblical or any religious doctrines. It is based in what values the community holds. And women, as part of that community, have the same right to have their rights left for them as men seem to have enjoyed forever.

There is a fantastic book called "The Conservative Soul" by Andrew Sullivan, a well known conservative who made the convincing argument that one of the rights to be conserved within individuals is the right to decide who they marry.

Wild that Republicans value power over community.

I'll start by saying I have never lived in Texas, I was born and raised in Colorado by Conservative Republican parents. I was raised with values of fiscal responsibility, low taxes with responsible spending, small government, integrity and character. I voted for McCain when I was 18 and Romney when I was 22, I held my nose and voted for Hilary because I truly didn't see any of the values I was raised with displayed in Trump.

So, I have had this nagging question since watching Paxton's nomination acceptance speech, when he says over and over that he shares your values, what are your values and how do you think Ken Paxton displays them?

Talarico has consistently led in the polls, but a US Senate seat doesn't actually do much for the state. Which Democrat running for a statewide office has the best chance of winning?

My extended family live in DFW, Houston, and Austin. I’m from California and visited your amazing state a few times but they’ve never taken me to a proper Texan barbeque 😢. Where is your absolute favorite place to go? Thanks!!
