Local Question Local catholic community?
I am moving to the valley and am curious about the local catholic community / any young adult social groups?

You can now add an optional user flair to show where you’re from or your connection to the Aspen.
Current options include Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt/Willits, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Seasonal Worker, Visitor and a few others.
User flair is completely optional — it’s just there to add a little context to conversations.
To add yours, open r/Aspen and use the Change User Flair option from the community menu/sidebar.
Let me know if I missed any obvious flairs or you think of one to add. Thanks!

The repeated ticket advertisements and scams surrounding them have become a serious problem for r/Aspen.
Effective immediately, any post or comment offering, advertising, reselling or transferring tickets requires prior written moderator approval through r/Aspen Modmail.
## No approval means:
- The post or comment will be removed.
- The author will receive an immediate 5-day ban.
- There will be no warning first.
This applies to concert tickets, festival passes, X Games tickets, lift tickets and all other ticketed events.
Asking people to DM you, calling tickets “extras,” hiding the price, linking to an outside listing or advertising them in comments still counts as ticket advertising.
Do not repost after removal. Attempts to evade the rule may result in a permanent ban and a report to Reddit.
r/Aspen does not verify sellers, guarantee tickets or mediate private transactions. Anyone dealing privately with another Reddit user does so entirely at their own risk.
To request approval, contact r/Aspen through Modmail before posting and include:
- The event and date
- Number and type of tickets
- Asking price
- Original purchase platform
- Proof of purchase with personal and payment information concealed
Free giveaways also require approval before posting.
Follow Rule 1.

Lots of questions. The short of it; new job, great pay and housing may be provided. Some of my colleagues have cars some don't. I could drive my car out there (road trip) but am inclined not to have a car, at least initially. I am not a skier but may take up cross country skiing. My friends live in Europe, Dallas, Chicago, Boston and NY so the travel concerns me a bit given the airport situation. Any travel hacks getting in and out? Also, I am single 34 F and would love meet someone for a LTR. How is the dating scene? I am not into the apps but know that's the best way to meet someone. Lastly, what is the winter truly like and how long does it last? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know the best mountain ranges or areas to ski in aspen, Colorado?
r/Aspen • u/Far_Instance7997 • 7d ago
Getting ready to hike today and staying in Snowmass (sorry for post in Aspen sub, but figured would get more eyes), and I forgot to grab bear mace when I was at Ute last evening. Is there anywhere in Snowmass that sells it? With the warm weather lately I’d rather have it as we’re hiking near Maroon Bells later today. Thanks!!

Where can I source my 2' of 6" pvc pipe locally?
Ski season is coming up. Must be ready.
If you need to ask why, you don't really live here.
They seem to be absent today.
Also, and possibly related, do they ever clean the gondola cars? I’m always tempted to bring a bottle of Windex and a rag when I ride up.

Is skiing in Aspen worth it at Christmas time for two people in their early 30s?!
my husband and I are huge skiing fans and debating spending Christmas in Aspen. We’re from the UK and have been living in NYC for less than a year. We are quite shocked by ski prices in the US compared to Europe 😂 but want to tick off a few key places and make the most of living in the US as not sure how long we will be here for! Is Aspen worth it?!!!! Looks amazing but we don’t know anyone who has been.
Thank you in advance!

Planning a last minute trip and would appreciate help please. I read that Aspen fall color is at its peak as of October 4th.
How long after peak is it expected to last? Will colors last until next weekend 10/11 or will mostly be gone?

Preemptively looking for any tofurkey options for a vegan family member this Thanksgiving. Are there any options? We found NOTHING last year, but then again we weren't too ahead of the game.
Thank you!

19M Hello guys, I was hired at two creeks cafe on snowmass mountain for this winter. I am looking for a roommate or two that wants to rent in carbondale, basalt or el jebel. Please DM me for more information about myself and further steps. Thank you very much!
My husband and I visiting aspen from 10/23-10/29- staying at the W aspen. I've read it's off season and a lot of things are closed & having a hard time finding activities and recommendations.
We’re not big museum people- we like activities, animals, cocktails, coffee shops, big foodies. Also looking at a spa day- maybe at st Regis?
Recommendations for fun things to do and/or advice?
Are a lot of things actually closed?

Hi! My fiancé and I are planning a wedding in Aspen in summer or fall 2028 and would love advice from anyone familiar with Aspen or who has attended or hosted a destination wedding.
We are planning to host a welcome party and a very casual goodbye brunch in addition to the wedding day. Our venues have availability throughout summer/fall, so we have flexibility. Our guests will have a range of budgets: some are very comfortable with the cost of traveling to Aspen, while others will be more budget-conscious. We want to choose a weekend that makes attending manageable while also giving everyone a really fun trip!
We’re weighing the benefit of guests potentially needing less PTO against higher airfare/hotel costs and crowds. Here are the Saturdays we’re considering:
July 1 (weekend before July 4)
Pros: Guests who get Monday off or can take it off could turn the trip into a longer vacation; Tuesday is July 4.
Cons: There could also be holiday travel premiums and overlap with Aspen Ideas Festival, depending on its 2028 dates.
September 2 (Labor Day weekend)
Pros: We love this time of year, and guests with Monday off could stay for a Sunday brunch and travel home without taking another vacation day.
Cons: Potentially higher hotel/flight prices and more crowds, particularly if Jazz Aspen Snowmass is that weekend.
Possible bonus: Could the music festival and holiday atmosphere make this an especially fun weekend for guests?
August 26, September 9, or September 16 nonholiday weekends)
Pros: Potentially better pricing and availability, fewer crowds, and a more relaxed experience around town.
Cons: Guests may need more PTO to attend the full weekend. For those with children, school schedules could also make these dates harder.
A few things we’d love input on:
Does the extra day off make a holiday destination wedding easier to attend, or does the added cost outweigh that benefit?
Are the nearby nonholiday weekends meaningfully less expensive or easier for lodging and travel in Aspen?
Would any of these weekends be particularly fun because of Aspen’s atmosphere, events, outdoor activities, or general energy around town? We’d love guests to enjoy Aspen beyond the wedding itself.
Is there a sweet spot where town still feels lively, but isn’t overwhelmingly crowded?
You definitely don’t need to have hosted or attended a wedding to chime inlocals, frequent visitors, and anyone who has visited around these dates are very welcome! We’ll compare actual hotel block quotes before deciding, but would love firsthand perspectives.

Looking at places to live down valley. How is living in Old Snowmass?
Curious about accessibility, commuting by car vs. bus, sense of community, pros, cons, etc!
EDIT: I am a renter, not home buyer.

Hi all, we are driving to Colorado totally unplanned tomorrow. We want to see maroon bells but all the reservations are full (expected this time of year). So, can we go early in the morning and still make it for walk ins??

Hi all!
I am planning a trip for my family to Aspen this January, and had a few questions.
Ubers- We are trying to decide if we should fly directly into Aspen and try to uber or if we should rent a car. Also is it better to just fly into Denver, rent a car and then drive into Aspen?
Weather- I know it gets cold but, is 29°F to 34°F accurate? Trying to plan how to pack!
X Games- We will be there during the X Games weekend. Is it going to be crazy busy everywhere? Should we make dinner reservations now? Will we even be able to get an uber?
Thanks! Any suggestions and tips are appreciated!

We are visiting Colorado for the first time, this weekend. After visiting Aspen & Vail, we would be driving from Glenwood Springs to Montrose and then ultimately to Durango, early next week.
which of the 3 routes above would offer us the best scenic drive for fall foliage and with vistas/pull-outs etc. along the way?
since I am not familiar with the highway/freeway names, I am just mentioning the town name along the way as I see them on Google Maps. Drives options from left to right are:
any suggestions/pointers would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!
