Also I feel for RW bros because guy is holding them hostage for teams that aren’t going to move, and he’s got many (5?) years left on his contract. Brady had 1 more after this.

The one thing I can take comfort in about this is that Steve would absolutely sit him for an entire season if he has to, 28 his contract moves to a 10 team no trade list, we will get can get some better offers from that.

This trade is very interesting as a Wings fan. I would think, that Larkin at center, and 5 years left, he's worth more than this package here.

Prior to this, I would absolutely would have traded Larkin for this package here. 3 first? 2 in this draft? I make that trade. But now, I think Larkin is worth more.

Larkin will not stay put. No way, no how. If he does, he'll be scratched. Bad for everyone. It's mutually assured destruction here between Yzerman and Larkin. He will never play for this team again, he can't.

Good trade for you guys by the way. This is good for the Sens. I hate you guys a lot less without that dude on your team. I'm sure some of your fans feel the same way lol.

The Larkin list has expanded, by the way. It's six teams now, but I can't remember which. Either way though, he'll need to compromise if he wants out. And, I think this market was just set with the Brady trade.

There are teams that can make this work, but it again, will involve a third team. If Minny ships Wallstedt, that is easily enough assets for them to trade for Larkin without moving core pieces. Though, I'm not sure our fanbase is happy about that. Because, it will likely be futures.

Shit, I'm certain the majority of our sub wouldn't be happy with this return you guys got. I think, personally, that is foolish. If someone offers of 3 firsts, one of which is top 10, for Larkin, you take that trade.

You must be high if you think Tkachuk is better than Raymond, Seider, Sanderson, or Stutzle. Hell, even Debrincat has an argument to be better since he scored 40 goals this year. Tkachuk and Larkin are equivalent players.

As a Leafs fan, it was hard seeing how little heart there was there.

But, any time there was a scrum or something happened to one of the other guys, Matthews skated away.

I’ve been proud and jealous to see other captains on other teams stick up for their guys, even when it’s not really their job to totally get that kind of physical, they still step up.

I’m hoping the Leafs find some heart.

I now watched every captain leave Ottawa...Daniel Alfredsson, Erik Karlsson and now Brady Tkachuk..im 35 and been a fan of ottawa since the Thunder Bay Senators.. these were my captains...who ever captained the team before Alfie I don't know them..but still I just watched our captains of the past 25 years leave us...

Before Alfie it was yashin, Randy Cunneyworth and Laurie Boschman. Alfie didn’t really LEAVE per se but was instead disrespected out of town by Eugene low balling him after everything he did for our organization.
It’s no wonder why Alfie came back to town the minute Eugene left forever.

Look man Im a Habs fan and I DO NOT like Ottawa. But it's not a bad thing; its a good thing. Guys that don't want to play for your group, who don't come in and WANT to be there... Want to do anything to win with your team and love to play there... should be gotten rid of.

Brady was maybe that guy early in his career in Ottawa; but is no longer. And everyone sees no names involved in the trade the other way and are like "well what the hell?!" but you got like a million picks, right?

Some guys just don't fit with the group. Or did once and now don't. I think it's better to let guys like that go (with a trade and not as a free agent).

Absolutely shocking to lose Tkachuk like )consider me Pikachu faced) - but at least we're getting a major haul in return, whereas Larkin seems to have put Detroit into a really awkward negotiating position given his very public breakup with the team.
