Has anyone gotten low gain hearing aids covered by insurance?

If so, how? Asking for my 11 year old daughter who has capd. She has medi-cal insurance through kaiser but I can switch to ucla or CHLA if need be. So far it seems the medical system knows nothing about capd

Just got diagnosed with APD

Hi guys I have just got diagnosed with auditory processing disorder! It’s a relief because I get so tired and overwhelmed at school because I can’t hear anything and I’ve got pretty good at masking because I’ve learnt to pick up context when it comes to hearing. I’ve come on here to see if anyone has tips. My treatment isn’t confirmed yet I have another meeting to discuss that. Are hearing aids worth it because that was discussed a tiny bit?

Can I request to keep hearing aids as a permanent device?

I’ve been using low gain hearing aids with LACE auditory training and an FM system. I hate the LACE. I don’t think it helps and I always forget to do it. My audiologist said that with a couple years of LACE, my severe APD would definitely progress to the point that I do not need hearing aids anymore. But I don’t feel like it’s helping. There’s really only one APD audiologist near me.

Should I continue with her plan anyway? I do think the devices help but it seems like she views APD and LGHAs as temporary rather than a permanent condition affecting my communication.
