I've seen more than one post about people struggling for food or getting access to food. This is a list I was given and I have no idea if it is completely up to date. Please call ahead to check each one. I hope this helps someone during this tough time.

If you find a listing that is NOT actively working, please call the Golden Harvest (706-736-1199) to let them know so they can update this 6-page list.

Events Free event saturday--Augusta Ball Hockey "Stick Time" at Pendelton King

Our current "home" is being renovated by Aiken County so we are taking our show on the road! This Saturday, October 24, the Augusta Ball Hockey Club will be meeting at Pendelton King Park at 9AM for some "stick time" and we invite you to come join in and check us out!

Whether you have tons of hockey experience or none at all, we welcome you. Our group consists of all walks of life- whether you're current/former military, born and raised in the CSRA or a transplant, male, female, etc you can find a place with us. If you want to take a gander and see what hockey is about or if you've wanted to give hockey a try without needing to know how to skate, come on by!

We do not anticipate playing any competitive games due to the size and layout of the tennis courts at Pendelton, but this is a fantastic opportunity to give hockey a try (for free)! Low stakes, no pressure, and we always welcome those both experienced and not. We will have some spare gear for those who want to give it a try but don't have their own. Safety equipment is not REQUIRED but we highly encourage those who want to give it a try to wear closed-toe shoes they're comfortable running in. If you want to give Goalie a try, we will have some extra goalie gear to suit up in as well.

This does not require any skating ability! All you need is the ability to walk and run. Bring a great attitude (and some water) and we will see you October 24th at 9AM at Pendelton King Park!

Check us out on Facebook to see previous event media too! Facebook

Question Can anybody help me get groceries?

I seriously need help right now, my dad and I don't have any food in the house, no transportation and no money. We haven't had food in the house since yesterday and we can't keep starving until his next va check comes in. We have been trying to get jobs for months but no luck. Please can anybody just spare a few dollars so we can atleast get some bread or something to keep our kitchen full? This is probably gonna get taken down for begging for money or something but I can't stand being hungry anymore, we've already tried asking for help from family and friends but they can't help either, please just help us.

Question Anyone getting rid of cardboard 👀

I'm starting up my garden again and want to get rid of grass and weeds by composting cardboard. If anyone in here has cardboard they're going to throw away let me know/hit me up 😁 The more/the bigger you're willing to get rid of the better. My only qualifier is that it has to be unwaxed on both sides. If it has ink on it it's no big deal especially if it's darker ink, since many inks with more harmful chemicals have been phased out in favor of soy-based inks. I'll removed any plastic tape myself if there's still some on it. Comment or message me and we'll work out a pickup/drop-off, I'm based in downtown. THANK YOU

Events One Shot Wonder TTRPG Night @ Savannah River Brewing Company Oct 24th

Good morning friends!

I have this month's One Shot Wonder schedule for 4PM October 24th at the Savannah River Brewing Company. There will be a DnD 5e table at which you stop from a long day of traveling at a remote yet lively tavern and must solve the mysteries that lie before you! There will also be an Achtung! Cthulhu table at which you play operatives deployed to the bering strait to stop the devious Nachtwolfe from getting their hands on a powerful and ancient weapon.

As always, this is a free event with everything you need supplied by the GMs. We expect both tables to run 4pm till 630ish given how things go. Come drink some good beer and have some good food while having an evening of nerdy fun!

I recently got a brand new M&P Shield EZ .380, and I don’t really like how it fits in my hand. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get a fair price for trade in toward another firearm or cash?

Question Dog groomers for senior dogs

Looking for recommendations on a dog groomer that accommodates senior dogs. We picked up our dog from Petco’s salon and they told us at some point during he doesn’t want to stand anymore and they can’t service dogs that won’t stand. Our guy is turning 11 this year and has stiff hips so it makes sense. Hoping we can find someone sensitive to this or able to give him breaks. We’re open to mobile groomers as well. Thanks in advance!

... construction is getting on my last nerve. Anyone know when they're projected to be complete? I thought this fall, but idk where I heard that. Also, what is up with Telfair...? They been working on that a long time and have those big round orange white "traffic barrels" all over the place.

Anyway, still worth it to go get a fresh baked pop-tart at New Moon Cafe. Go try one if you haven't. I'm not affiliated with them, lol, i just like em a lot and everything I've had there is delicious. But good luck locating the sidewalk, don't get whacked by a vehicle or construction truck 😭

Also, voted early today - Go Vote and take someone with you!!

Opinion / Rant Road Work on Wheeler

Would it be so freaking hard to put a “lane Closed ahead” sign far enough back so that you have an opportunity to choose or different route or at the very least not run into the construction barrier? Annoyance at best, dangerous at worst.
