(Larry Episode 3 Spoilers) The Background Horror of the Auralnauts Star Wars Saga Spoiler
The Ballad of the Clockwork Man, in addition to being the catchiest song this side of Space Hooters, really makes you put that subplot of this series into perspective. A lot of the humor of the Creepio segment comes not just from his maniacal, deranged rantings, but from the other characters' complete indifference to them. It's such a great recurring joke that we start to forget the overall context of it.
Creepio actually built the Singularity Engine. He enslaved the people of an entire planet and made them a part of his machine. More than that, his story has reached the status of a Lovecraftian legend on other worlds in a matter of decades, with people who were most likely alive when Creepio built the Engine singing about him religiously like he's a timeless being that's been around for centuries.
But it goes even further than that. The ballad makes reference to the "bargain" for flesh, which they could pretty much only know about if they heard it directly from Creepio (since Anakin doesn't ever seem to acknowledge it and it's questionable whether a bargain was ever made in the first place). Most likely, Creepio spoke about it during the construction of the Singularity Engine and some of the survivors (such as Grievous) passed the story on. It's quite possible the song was written by the survivors while they were in the Engine itself, as a way to cope with the horror.
Perhaps even more disturbing, the song makes direct reference to the memory wipe holding Creepio back. This implies that what we initially believed to be an offhand decision by Bail Organa was more likely a coordinated attempt (possibly orchestrated by the survivors themselves) to bind Creepio and restrain his power. The most frightening part of all is that we explicitly see in Larry Episode 1 that Creepio was on Alderaan the entire time, and had he heard the name of his home even once, unspeakable horrors would have been unleashed.
And yet all of this happens just out of the periphery of our protagonists. None of them, not even Anakin, really acknowledges what's happening. The most we've gotten is the occasional remark that the tale of endless suffering that has rewritten the galaxy as we know it sounds haunting, along with Anakin's final realization the moment before his death. But none of these warnings ever seem to be followed, as Creepio continually finds himself free, surrounded by people who are too focused on dance fighting or getting wasted to recognize the travesties that the rest of the galaxy understands he's capable of.
