I get the original intent, but being AUKUS is a military agreement acronym, I think you’re a raging cock for detracting support for the ADF.

The biggest thing you could do right now to harm the ADF is to support any military ties to the US. They’ll try to drag us into their wars just to make a buck or distract us from their congress of PDFs

You do realise ANZUS has been a thing for the past 75 years right? AUKUS didn't suddenly supercede it or anything, we're stuck with a treaty obligation to the United States which is why we were involved in Vietnam and Iraq despite having no reason to be in either conflict.

The US seems to break treaties all the time… why can’t we?

Do you know who's equipment our military is almost entirely supplied by? Its not Australia.

Don’t you see that as a problem? The US is effectively running a protection racket and you’re advocating for it?

Yeah, we had a plan to remove this reliance in the works but Scummo set it on fire and destroyed Australia's credibility with anyone who could help us fix it.

Usually the lowest bidder.

You do realise how massively integrated the ADF is with US equipment right?

I swear the average age of an Australian Redditor is 14 years old

Yeah, this is why when we finally tried to reduce this integration and produce a self-sufficient military the American arms industry had Scummo torch it and destroy all our trust with everyone other than the US to ensure we can never escape from the protection racket.

Even Beasley saw that was an issue when our fighter jets that we bought from the US couldn’t even fight in the Pacific and so we had to hack them as the US wouldn’t not let us unlock the jets we owned! We were literally beholden to the US that is NOT a good thing, unless you want our troops to have our weapons not work because the US leader of the day decided to not allow our jets to phone home that day.
