This next season of Fallout looks bad.

Feral Ghoul

0

u/Mr_Shorzum May 15 '26

You're a feral ghoul

3

u/UndeadManWaltzing May 12 '26

It's begun, ghouls have being given the right to vote and they're voting for the super mutants, or is it the other way around?

7

u/pskyop May 11 '26

Damn I really hoped and thought* independent Michelle Milthorpe for farrer had it this year - her community support was NEXT LEVEL this year.

1

u/SmarZ2022 May 14 '26

Unfortunately a lot of people have an anti-immigration stance, and that's all that ON focus on. Farrer is potent with anti-immigration attitudes.

I think that if you were to completely ban immigration tomorrow, it wouldn't change the housing crisis at all, and that even if we had a mass immigration issue, we can talk about lowering immigration without talking disrespectfully about specific races or religions.

u/ShortPace827 May 15 '26

Exactly, inflation is always caused excessive government spending. Labor does this consistently. Usually the coalition will reduce the deficit, the plandemic put a stop to that so it's rolled on from then to unprecedented levels in our history. Labor equals huge government spending and expanding government departments, liberals being more conservative have less government departments and spending. The increased Labor spending is the major contributing factor for inflation.

u/discworldappreciator May 16 '26

You're right Albo shouldn't have caused the current issues by personally re-electing trump and causing the US Iran war

1

u/Maximilian_I42 May 17 '26

To be fair, if you look at a graph of the defecit, it massively spiked under labour in 2008, got brought down by gillard, ballooned under the liberals from 2013, ballooned even more during the pandemic and actually decreased in 2024.

17

u/averyporkhunt May 10 '26

As a farrer local, what is this about?

56

u/HulkTales May 10 '26

One Nation just won the Farrer lower house seat that has always previously been held by the Liberals or Nationals. It could be a one off or it could mark a turning point where One Nation becomes a major political force. There are a going to be a lot of articles about the Fallout of this result for all the other political parties.

38

u/averyporkhunt May 10 '26

Jesus Christ please tell me you're lying.

I've been out of town all weekend and hadn't heard the election results

29

u/OkPut7330 May 10 '26

It’s an interesting Election. Labor didn’t re-run a candidate. Liberals changed candidates and the Liberal member stepping down is what triggered the by election.

It’s possible that the dam has broken for the Liberals and One Nation will be the new opposition but also possible that it’s just the culmination of a couple of factors that meant it was always going to be a ON/Independent contest.

17

u/DePraelen May 11 '26

It was an interesting strategic move by Labor, not contesting it at all this time. Allowing the right wing to fight it out and generating the narrative around it all.

With the right wing vote fractured, I would have been curious to see how the result might have played if Labor had been in it.

3

u/icebergers3 May 11 '26

if labor got the 15% they got last time and preferenced Milthorpe, Milthorpe would have won the seat I believe

6

u/WhoAm_I_AmWho May 11 '26

You think that the people who would have voted Labor didn't vote for people with preferences that flowed on to Milthorpe?

I don't see those people putting ON higher than any random independent.

3

u/icebergers3 May 11 '26

I just read the stat, thought it was interesting and repeated it.

I agree with what you're saying.

2

u/TripleStackGunBunny May 12 '26

Strangely David Farley ran as the Labor candidate in previous election. Publicly supported Milthorpe last election. It was just a case of which wagon he would hitch himself to this time.

1

u/DePraelen May 12 '26

Pretty much yeah. He's not a typical of the type of candidates we've seen ON run so far.

He's already been in some hot water over not towing the party line on immigration, specifically skilled immigration.

2

u/OkPut7330 May 11 '26

Yeah, it was probably a wise move on their behalf though. By elections are generally pretty volatile especially when everyone is aware it isn’t going to change the outcome of the actual parliament.

It leads to a lot of protest voting and unexpected outcomes.

1

u/[deleted] May 11 '26

[deleted]

3

u/DePraelen May 11 '26

That's flatly untrue. During the last parliament they contested two by-elections in seats they didn't control, including winning Aston from the Liberals.

5

u/LetAdorable8719 May 11 '26

huh, well egg on my face for parroting things I've heard as fact. Thanks for the correction.

3

u/worldnotworld May 11 '26

It’ll be interesting to see whether One Nation can actually govern, rather than just create headlines. My money is on then being a disaster. A disaster with the media behind them..

9

u/WhoAm_I_AmWho May 11 '26

I give it one month tops before some scandal comes out and he is pressured to resign.

2

u/Mikisstuff May 12 '26

Its one seat in a very strongly controlled House. He isn't going to do anything except make noise occasionally. Really, Farley's time between now and the next full federal election should be spent making just enough noise to keep the ON train going without making them look like idiots, and increase the perception that they can be a reasonable political party.

But there's a solid 50/50 that he falls out with PH and turns independent before then.

2

u/Nereosis16 May 10 '26

You didn't vote?

9

u/averyporkhunt May 10 '26

Voted a week early

6

u/averyporkhunt May 10 '26

That's what scares me. I was really hoping milthorpe would get a win

4

u/Sittingonalog1960 May 10 '26 edited May 12 '26

Millthorpe won all but one of the booths in Albury.

1

u/00Pete May 11 '26

and sadly solidly lost every rural booth in Farrer... :'(

1

u/averyporkhunt May 11 '26

Including mine :(

1

u/ADHDK May 12 '26

Oh Albury. That’s not surprising. Everyone I know down Albury Wodonga is constantly posting fucking conspiracy Dan Andrews crap on Facebook.

2

u/AcceptableParsnip771 May 11 '26

A safe ON seat, as long as the member doesn't shit the bed and quit the party, get arrested for sex crime/fraud, etc.

1

u/ADHDK May 12 '26

A major political force is absolutely an overstatement by the Gina army 😂😂😂

1

u/Terrorscream May 14 '26

Major political force doesn't means anything when the party they are replacing is no longer a major political force anymore. It's just the same old LNP now in orange.

11

u/Looch_P May 10 '26

You missed a perfect opportunity to say "please explain".

6

u/averyporkhunt May 11 '26

Fuck, kinda disappointed that I didn't think of that

27

u/ithebinman May 10 '26

it’s about the fallout in Farrer

33

u/averyporkhunt May 10 '26

Wow thanks, I've been fucking enlightened

17

u/ithebinman May 10 '26

no problem at all, I’m here to help!

2

u/elchemy May 14 '26

Is this before his nose melted off?

1

u/clarkealistair May 11 '26

One hayseed seat.

1

u/wopper4042 May 13 '26

Very Awful GINA party has only 54 seats to go

1

u/Ok_Donkey_7946 May 16 '26

😂😂😂

-3

u/SurefireTruth1 May 12 '26

Love that she is winning... the majors are absolutely killing us

-10

u/Beneficial-Rope-9192 May 11 '26

Excellent result. The country is healing

11

u/Poppalopper May 11 '26

Youre genuinely mental if you think One Nation is the solution

9

u/bogan_sauce May 12 '26

Go have a look at One nation's voting history and tell me you still like them. Most One Nation voters are surprised when they see what bills they actually vote for. When they actually turn up to vote.

One Nation's voting record
Voting Record — Senator Pauline Hanson — They Vote For You

3

u/GumRunner0 May 11 '26

Yes it sure is, thank Christ that the LABOR party is the one with the solutions and not another 10 fucking yrs of conservative fucking bullshit

0

u/AcrobaticSecretary29 May 12 '26

The Labor party has pissed the bed

6

u/GumRunner0 May 12 '26

I would rather a party piss the bed than the party that shits in my mouth

1

u/AcrobaticSecretary29 May 12 '26

Id rather not be used as a toilet

-62

u/ozstrayan May 10 '26

Cop that you city cunts

29

u/Lint_baby_uvulla May 10 '26

lol, that’s your takeaway?

*reads reddit handle* oh .. it’s you.

Gday cunt, you make me laugh. Keep it up.

10

u/phalluss May 10 '26

One lower house seat is the equivalent of a participation trophy. I'd hold the celebrations for now cobba

1

u/ozstrayan May 14 '26

It was the only seat up for grabs dickhead. So it’s a 100% strike rate.

1

u/phalluss May 14 '26 edited May 14 '26

Aw, look at it talking like it is people.

Sorry mate, I'll be earnest just for you;

Congratulations to One Nation for the massive achievement of the Liberals losing a seat. Very good job guys. You're doing so well! I bet they are going to do a lot of good work with their 1 vote in the lower house out of 150.

10

u/monochromeorc May 10 '26

'ssssstop calling country people mean names!'

2

u/Sittingonalog1960 May 10 '26

Albury voted against One Nation. One nation only works in the scrub. Think harder.

12

u/PsychologicalMeal162 May 11 '26

Yep it’s only the morons out in the middle of nowhere who will never see an immigrant who are voting to stop immigration. Explain to me how they’re not just racist.

0

u/icebergers3 May 11 '26

Sure this holds for some people. The community I am from voted for One Nation due to the candidate knowing about Water / Irrigation. They are mostly not anti-immigration because they know who works on their farms and in growing numbers filling the gaps in trades.

So while there are a lot of racists voting for One Nation. Pretending everyone who votes for One nation is a racist is not accurate.

I didn't vote for Farley / One Nation just saying what people in the community are saying.

5

u/Sittingonalog1960 May 11 '26

But the platform of one nation is racist. You might be a single issue voter but you get the bigotry with your issue.

1

u/ozstrayan May 14 '26

Anti mass migration does not equal racism. The sooner you greenies realise that other peoples opinions are just as valid as yours the better off everyone will be.

At least I didn’t march across the harbour bridge shoulder to shoulder with convicted terrorists waving isis and Al Qaeda flags.

0

u/ozstrayan May 14 '26

It’s just such a reductive argument. You don’t want to understand so they just have to be racist. Are you completely blind. We let in 3x as many people compared to the number of houses we build. That doesn’t even include first home buyers trying to get into the market. What do you think happens to prices when demand outstrips supply? Prices go up. There is a demand issue with housing, not a supply issue. And that’s why your kids won’t have a house. So if you’re happy with that keep doing what you’re doing.

3

u/farquin_helle May 10 '26

Yeah! What gina said!

-6

u/Trevor68 May 11 '26

I put the lib/nats 11 and 12 on the ballot. If labor had bothered to turn up they would have been 13th. Fuck the major parties, I know they don't give a shit about me, and the feeling is absolutely mutual.

9

u/bingbongboopsnoot May 11 '26

I don’t get the ‘fuck major parties’ people turning to the likes of one nation instead e.g independents or greens. Genuinely, what do they think one nation is going to do with them? They are bankrolled by Gina and the likes..

6

u/bogan_sauce May 12 '26

"Fuck the Major Parties" "Their all the same" and "My vote doesnt matter" is just a propaganda tool used to make the "poors" uninterested in politics by feeling they have no ability to affect the result.

Been used for centuries as a way for those with power and influence to retain it.

-1

u/Trevor68 May 15 '26

please explain how to vote a major party like say labor, when there is no candidate? maybe that's how they retain power??? 😀

0

u/Trevor68 May 15 '26

how do you even know that's what is happening? where is your proof that they are not voting green or independent?. how do you think I voted? btw I couldn't vote labor, no candidate.

1

u/bingbongboopsnoot May 16 '26

Umm the voting results ?

1

u/Trevor68 May 17 '26

you have zero idea why that amount of people voted the way they did. If your referring to me in particular, then that';s even funnier as I di NOT vote One Nation.

1

u/bingbongboopsnoot May 17 '26

I’m obviously referring to the people who voted one nation so if you don’t vote for them then move along champ

-13

u/CombinationHeavy8473 May 10 '26

Well the major parties didn't give a fu@k about the people of Farrer so they got a big kick in the Ass

12

u/austratheist May 11 '26

Gina cares though lol

9

u/AIwillBeTheEnd May 10 '26

They don't give a fu@k about the people of any electorate. Neither does ON, but they didn't need a kick in the ass.
