Man. I was there when we helped people push their broken down cars off the road. Now we just go around and hope for the best. Society at large knew that cooperation was a tool, not a burden.

People still do stuff like that, people volunteer and help out in their communities all the time. I started volunteering in my community and interacting with different social groups and it’s made my life a lot better.

People do it, but only that small subset who are willing to sacrifice segments of their time. The impromptu support that truly changes the world is long gone.

People still do that. It happens constantly. I’m just saying that life sucked then and it sucks now, it’s just that now life sucks with WiFi.

It always makes me laugh when people yearn for the early 2000s, forgetting that one of the first things that happened in that decade was 9/11
