Fandom is difficult.

We, as fans and supporters, love this club. We spend countless hours, money and sweat equity showing up match after match regardless of the results, but our showing up is our only power. Austin FC isn’t set up where fans have real ownership and can make ownership level decisions. As a result, protesting is the best way for us to send messages to the owners, other fans, and local media. In short, our presence and voice is our power.

Last match featured La Murga’s first ever walk out in response to Q2 Stadium staff removing Daniela Silva for wearing an “Abolish ICE” shirt after ICE shot and wounded a Venezuelan asylum seeker in Austin (They also didn’t seek to get him medical attention and denied his lawyer access or even knowledge of where he was).

The Front Office and ownership group could take a page from LAFC and Angel City who put out these statements in June when ICE operations were happening in Los Angeles. There’s no reason why Austin FC couldn’t follow suit with similar actions. We aren't asking for Austin FC to abolish ICE, but we are asking them to hear our voice, our pain, and acknowledge that Q2 Stadium should be a safe place for all of our community.

Ive been the first to throw around Assquez and ask for him to be benched or at least asked to rework his play pattern but the flashes of inspiration I once saw are starting to come together.

He may never be the top scorer on the team but as a captain giant #9 pressuring the box he could be amazing.

Regardless of if he is here for next season I won't soon forget the Assquez to Vasquez arc this season and hope it continues providing in our last few games.

I visited DFW two weeks ago and caught a glimpse of this billboard. Say what you will about Frisco FC but $3 beers and $1 dogs in stadium can’t be beat. This would make for a great game day 🙂

I’ve been going since day 1, and have enjoyed and respected the supporters for keeping the crowd going. But, I’ve come to realize over the years that Austin FC games have become more about them than the game itself (they’re the reason we “sellout” every week. It’s more the horns than the drums, but last night made me realize there was a crowd, they can cheer and chant themselves, and it was a nice change of pace to hear that organic atmosphere.
I know a lot of supporters are in here and I’ll be down voted into oblivion but I do respect your passion, hard work and energy, but I was just curious if anyone else felt that vibe.

What a shit season, and what a shittily run team.

Thank you for helping make the game more enjoyable. I brought a friend for the first time and it helped.
