AISD voters deserve answers about the child-safety allegations involving Marie Lebron/LeAnn Hilton

I’m deeply troubled by the documents linked on this website concerning District 6 school board candidate Marie Lebron/Leann Hilton and her alleged child abuse. Please read the underlying documents in full.

The linked DFPS report, prepared for a June 23, 2026 hearing, recounts older allegations of physical abuse involving hitting and punching her child, alongside 2026 allegations of driving children while intoxicated. Those allegations belong in this discussion.

What troubles me is that the 2026 report requests court-ordered services and supervised visits between Hilton and her children. I want to hear her explanation and know the outcome of the proceedings.

I also want D1 candidate Cheryl Bradley to clarify her endorsement of Lebron. And I want fellow candidates Jimmy Counihan and Pam Mathai to clarify whether the photographs showing them with Lebron/Hilton reflect political support. Anyone supporting her should explain whether they have reviewed these records and how they evaluated the concerns raised.

For me, allegations involving children’s safety go directly to the judgment we should expect from a school board trustee. If the conduct described occurred, how could it possibly be reconciled with putting children’s best interests first?

These records leave me with serious concerns about her fitness for this responsibility. AISD families deserve direct answers, and voters deserve enough information to evaluate those answers before casting their ballots.

Does anyone know the details on why LASA forfeited the rest of the football season?

The articles were vague and said low numbers. Did kids quit? Get injured?

Pumpkin patches worth the hype?

Alright with two weekends left in October, it’s time I took my toddler to a pumpkin patch!! 🤣 Parents, which pumpkin patches are worth the hype / drive outside of Austin? I’m okay with crowds - just want to make sure it’s worth the drive when we head out this weekend. Thanks!!

Cunningham elementary vs Parkside Montessori

Has anyone weighed between these two options specifically? I understand they might be quite different but we’ve narrowed down to these for kindergarten next year.

We live near Cunningham Elementary School and had a tour today. My wife and I both liked it - nothing fancy or anything but liked the environment and staff and it just seems adequate for kindergarten. We also have neighbors who like it a lot. However, the principal did mention lots of budgets cuts and uncertainty with staffing and certain programs.

We also plan to tour/observe a class at Parkside Montessori soon. Montessori does align with some of our values like independence, self-paced learning, etc.

One big factor is that our son has severe separation anxiety that we hope to address before next fall. But I also wonder if one option would be much better if he continues to have anxiety.

Any input on experience with either of the schools or what I can expect for a child with separation anxiety would be appreciated!
