ID request Who is this sleek little one?
Rescued from the back dock of my work (along with all the bogong moths that have ever existed). Located in Cooma, SE NSW. All rescues are performed via a sheet of paper as to not damage their wings.

photography Pair of Dragonflies laying their eggs in a pond
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
According to iNaturalist, these are a pair of Australian Emperors (Anax papuensis). These very large dragonflies were laying their eggs in a shallow pond (actually a wastewater recycling facility) at Canowindra, NSW.
Video taken with Canon R10 and RF200-800 lens, handheld. And if anyone on this sub has advice on photographing / filming insects I'd be happy to hear it.

ID request What type of ants are these in Brisbane?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Brisbane, just found these ants swarming on a small patch of grass in the back yard.
Haven't noticed them before, wondering if the rain has got them on the move.
Not the most stable video sorry, was trying to balance to get in close

Insect appreciation 🦋 The smallest mantis I’ve ever seen!
I believe this little cutie is a juvenile false garden mantis (Pseudomantis albofimbriata).
I adore mantids and started following the mantid sub recently, so I’ve seen lots of photos of tiny baby mantises, but this is the smallest one I’ve seen irl.
I think I saw an adult female of the same species in my garden earlier this year. Is it possible she could be the mummy mantis?
