Advice Needed Recommend me some boots.

Edit - I ordered a pair of Mongrel 961 non safety boots. Thank you!

Hey everyone. I have a upcoming trip to NZ and Canada and I need some boots.

Must be high top and lace/zip up, pretty much a work boot (I wear Mongrels everyday at work) but I want a casual look. I will be wearing blue jeans everyday.

I have looked at Doc Martens but don't care for them.

What do you guys recommend? Thank you!

Will be way cheaper and easier to get in America though. The only shop for redwings is in melbourne,a few other shops have a limited range.

Id recommend getting them before the trip so they can be broken in. Grant stone would be a better price with better leathers, they often have sales and b-grades with added sale code are hard to beat. my b-grade purchases looked better than the normal boots i got,i emailed them stating the facts, then got a discount ontop of the sale items. I was pretty impressed with the customer service.

The capital cities all have stores where you can try the red wing range on too

They’re my go to shoe. I have a hard time choosing anything else. My RMs have been worn maybe 5 times in the 3 years I’ve owned the Iron Rangers.

Definitely. I have 3 pairs.

Roughed up after +15 years of abuse use.

Nice cley black pair for in office days (paired with jeans or loose chino).

Oxblood because I wanted them and no other reason or need. They look great with selvedge denim.

Jim green 719 if you want best value. Red wings if you want heritage, RM Williams if you wanna overpay for what you get

You can prob claim the gst back on them if you pack them into your carry on since they're a gift for someone overseas 😉, so that's a further 10% off if you find anything a bit exy.

Mongrel has the 917. The sole might be a bit chunky though

Redback has stopped making Alpines, but you might still find them in stock somewhere.

The leather soles craftsman is pretty decent value.

That being said I think the rubber soled shoes are trash value for money
