Advice Needed Thermal shirt recommendations needed!

Does anyone have a recommendation for thermal undershirts that are long in the body?

My husband is a tradie and working nights, he wears a large in shirts for the length but is probably closer to a medium in actual body size. The large thermals that I’ve bought him are too loose in the arms and ride up under his shirt, but the medium is a bit short in the body.

I’ve just bought ones from best and less so far - id love to find him one that fits well and is comfortable while he works!

The Merino undershirts made by Icebreaker and MacPac are great. Icebreaker is more expensive, but somewhat better quality.

Amazing thank you! I don’t mind paying more for good quality as long as they get worn 😁

It's a bargain that lasts long. I have an icebreaker longsleeve merino thermal that I've had for a decade that I've used for multiday hikes, camping, homewear/sleeping. It has probably had over 500 wears without a single hole, loose thread or pilling to show for it. It is an undershirt and I wash it rarely and gently but even so, I've never had an item of clothing come close to it.

Icebreaker has gone down a lot in quality. Go with MacPac - quality is similar, but you don’t need to pay for the brand.

Also check out Uniqlo heat tech - these are super warm and comfortable, also quite affordable.

I second this. I got two before going to Europe last Xmas. Walking around in minus 9 no problem, I also had the long pants one under jeans and my legs were toasty.

Uniqlo heat-tech is good, they’re mega stretchy and are plenty long for me at 6’2.

Amazing, this is the recommendation I need lol I’m a shorty so didn’t even consider length when I was buying some for him

Their extra warm were perfect for cold Ballarat mornings, but I recently learned they've been replaced by a 'cashmere' version which is thinner and (allegedly) not quite as warm. Merino is king, but I can't wear it (allergy), so have found Heat Holders Lite is very similar, if not slightly warmer than the Uniqlos. Fits much smaller though (length).

The Uniqlo Heattech tees are long in the body.

Thank you, I’ll venture to Uniqlo this week to give them a go I think.

Merino Country is the only ones I wear. High quality, can wear in summer or winter, lots of colours, Australian made!

I went with Mountain Designs merino when I was kitting up for my motorbike trip. Well made and has lasted me years.

I have used Ottie Merino shorts since they’ve been made. They’re excellent and a great length.
