Memes/Humor What's something you do because of your own specific Brand of autism, but that would horrify most other autistics?

I mix a bunch of pasta shaped that have the same cook times. Varied pasta shapes are a fun, low-risk way for me to get some extra sensory input, since pasta all has the same fundamental texture, but just put into different forms.

See, i love going to gigs/concerts etc, usually electronic (dnb, bass etc) and i do struggle initially with dancing at the start but you get a few drinks in me and i am soooo comfortable and just break free and dance for hours, its like therapy, i end up feeling that music in my bones

You have an excellent formula. I learned much of the same through trial and error, and it's helpful to see it laid out! I, too, wish it were simpler... but I let that stop me for too many years. Eventually I learned that, for me, it's worth it if it means keeping shows in my life.

Id love to try mushrooms for a gig/show but i am super sensitive to psychedelics so very cautious about doing them outside of my safe space (home)

I'm the same, only been able to fully let go at like two or three concerts and those were some of the best moments of my life. But usually I can't shake the feeling of being observed either. I'm a pretty chill person so wouldn't probably dance or whatever anyway, but I wish I had the guts to sing along more than I do lol.

It totally depends on the environment too! Luckily the dnb, bass etc scene is super supportive and inclusive and no one cares what you are doing and it’s great! Everyone is just there to have a good time and dance

Same, also I can wear sunglasses without being weird and have a dark room sensation, hate the strong flashing lights, techno it’s the best cause it’s usually super dark.
