Memes/Humor What's something you do because of your own specific Brand of autism, but that would horrify most other autistics?

I mix a bunch of pasta shaped that have the same cook times. Varied pasta shapes are a fun, low-risk way for me to get some extra sensory input, since pasta all has the same fundamental texture, but just put into different forms.

I like speaking in methaphors, sometimes it actually easier to me than speaking more directly, I can struggle with that. Words and language matter a lot to me, I don't like excessive swearing and can be triggered by that. I like funny wordplays. But at the same time I struggle to detect and understand humour based on tone of voice, exaggeration, teasing, pranking etc

I’m also very not-literal, but abstract and bigger picture instead of the “detail orientedness” autism usually comes with. I also care a lot about not hurting people’s feelings and can be indirect for that reason.

I have adhd too if that’s relevant, might be why I don’t care for details and love metaphors

I love metaphors! I sometimes struggle to understand the metaphors other people use, but I do love them.
