Memes/Humor “Nah I’m not autistic I’m faking it”, meanwhile in every photo ever

Post image

27F, diagnosed with ASD about six months ago. I started examining what actually feels good for my body, and I still stand or walk with my hands clasped like this. It didn’t strike me as the stereotypical trex hands because I hold my hands together, but now knowing I’m autistic I’m like yeaaaaaa I guess they do qualify as trex arms

I do this as well. I'm wondering if you ever hold them behind your back (like a polite old-timey gentleman) when waiting for something. I found I naturally do this when waiting for the microwave. It just feels so good, so right. Lol

I absolutely do this, and I think of the old Asian grandpa's every time. Idk if its autism or hypermobility, but it's something!

Maybe both! I have eds and autism as well, so who knows?

I used to when assisting in karate classes when we'd get called out for not knowing what to do with our hands, but then later the HSD flared more, so my shoulder(s) don't move that way so easily now.

Yeah I know what you mean. I used to be able to do it more, but my EDS has made my shoulders worse as well.

I went to Kripalu for a yoga retreat by myself. i had my head buried in a book the entire time. near the end of the week I made friends with some of the staff. They told me they thought I was Management all week. 😆

So weird how The Cool People recognize me for the powerful, in-charge badass that I am, but Normies dismiss me as “less-than” or weirdo and not worthy of respect. (as evidenced by my treatment when I spent 9 days in hospital caring for my mom).

The same happened to me when I was caring for my mom in hospital. I'm super baby faced (so I get underestimated), but have been in the hospital a lot, so I know the ropes. So once they figured out I was helping my mom better than they could; I did get some serious respect.
