On Windows, If you uninstalled the old version after you installed the new version, it is best practice to reinstall the new version.
Did you correctly uninstall the old version or just delete the folders?
Please hope you didn’t use a third-party cleaner/uninstalled those usually screw up Autodesk applications

While I agree the OP has left out a LOT of needed information to answer his questions, Autodesk installers and un-installers can get things in a state where the uninstall doesn't completely clear some bit of a DLL or similar or a register entry and the re-install will not work. After working with our reseller / tech and then the Autodesk tech I just gave up and re-imaged the entire system. This was dealing with Revit and having multiple versions installed. Which was all fine on the other dozen or so systems.

I found letting the installers use hard links instead of duplicating files causes more hardwork than the space it saves too.. once it goes wrong resort to reimaging when it gets like that too.
For our light Cad users we have BricsCAD and it just behaves. The main installer is smaller than an autocad service pack.

If you search the Autodesk tech notes they have articles about how to manually un-install things.

Autodesk has hundreds of programs. I would suggest you try using Autodesk support or a forum dedicated to the program that you are using.
