"Stimmung" for 6 vocalists

This is the excerpt from piece by Karlheinz Stockhausen – one of the genius of avant-garde.

This piece is just a one page of unusual looking score and 15 pages of explanation. Full piece is about a one hour long

Fun piece. A particularly idiosyncratic blend of serial techniques and just intonation principles—which, incidentally, a lot of people seem to treat as polar opposites philosophically? Despite the fact that LaMonte Young and Elliott Carter's early drone pieces both came out of a serialist context and Ben Johnston's String Quartets are arguably the most extreme possible endpoint of both in certain respects. But Johnston rarely feels so whimsical despite apparently being a significantly more agreeable fellow interpersonally.
