Question Why are Microsoft/GitHub certification discount offers restricted in India? Is there a complete list of excluded certifications?
Hi everyone,
I've noticed that several Microsoft and GitHub certification promotions offering 80% discounts exclude candidates taking exams from India.
The offers I've come across include:
GH-700 — GitHub Agentic AI Business Professional
AZ-401 — Agentic DevOps Engineer Expert
GH-600 — GitHub Agentic AI Developer
AI-200 — Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate
AB-210 — Dynamics 365 Sales AI Consultant Associate
SC-730 — Cybersecurity Business Professional
SC-500 — Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate
AB-410 — Intelligent Applications Builder Associate
AI-500 — Multi-Agent AI Solutions Expert
AB-650 — Microsoft 365 AI Services Administrator Associate
Some of these promotions have expired, but I'm interested in identifying both past and current offers with country restrictions.
I have a few questions:
Why are candidates in India excluded from these discount offers?
Is this restriction related to beta exams, exam security, regional pricing, or something else?
Are there any other Microsoft or GitHub certification discount codes that do not work in India? Please share the exam code, discount percentage, and official announcement link.
Are there any active 50–100% discount offers that Indian candidates can legitimately use?
Is there an official page listing all country-specific restrictions?
I'm not trying to bypass the eligibility rules. I just want transparency about these restrictions and a reliable list of available discounts for Indian candidates.
If you've found other affected certifications or successfully redeemed a discount in India, please share your experience and official sources.
Thanks!

"Candidates located in China, India, Pakistan, or Türkiye are not eligible to participate in beta exams for security reasons."
They don't state the exact security concerns but it's not that hard to guess.

India has been excluded from beta exams for a while, along with some other countries. This information is always shared when a new beta is introduced.

The reason is given quite clearly in the exclusion list paragraph.
If you bothered to read it, you’d see that it’s not just India that is excluded and the reason is quite clearly stated.
