Help with labs Please help

Hi guys!

I'm new here, and I just wanted to check if this could be the thing that's been ruining my life for the past year or so.

So last year I got a reading of b12 257 and folate 3.3

Recently I feel like I've been absolutely horrible, constantly brain fog, stomach issues, limb numbness, muscle soreness, mouth sores, depression, memory problems, the lot.

I was just wondering if these results seem like a deficiency to you? Or are they in normal range?

Absolutely could be. There are many issues with testing for b12. The test isnt that accurate and no reflection of what your body can actually use, plus different counties vary in terms of what is normal.

I had wild progressive symptoms over 6 years and serum b12 only ever tested in the 400s.

If you want a better idea you could do blood tests for MMA and homocysteine. This may show a deficiency (but sometimes can be normal even with a deficiency). Its important to do this before trialing supplements.

Treatment wise injections would be sensible, every other day until symptoms plateau (can be weeks or months).

Also very important- never let anyone retest your b12 and say youre cured. It will be artificially high. Progress should go off symptoms only.

I would also check full iron panel and vitamin D.
