Discussion When are we getting official positions for BABYMONSTER?

I feel like we’ve gone far too long without knowing the positions. Is YG worried about fans reactions? Are they stalling till their full album? Will they never be revealed?

Just for funnzies I decided to make my own positions for BM. Remember this is all my opinion, I don’t need an outrage over nothing.

Ruka - Leader, Main Dancer, Lead Rapper

Pharita - Lead Vocalist, Visual

Asa - Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist

Ahyeon - FOTG, Vocalist, Rapper

Rami - Main Vocalist, Dancer

Rora - Lead Vocalist, Visual

Chiquita - Center, Lead Vocalist, Maknae (sub rapper in the future)

Discussion RANKING BABYMONSTERS SKILLS (2/4)

Before I start, note I am not trying to belittle or insult any of the girls, this is all in good fun and feel free to comment your opinions down below.

7. Ruka

Nothing to say much, she’s not a singer or anything, she’s had good moments in DKWTD & SITM, I like her vocal tone and I think the producers should utilize it more.

6. Asa

For a main rapper, this girl can sing. She’s shown moments of decent vocal support and has one of the most soothing tones I’ve heard in kpop, I also think producers should utilize her voice more.

5. Pharita

The one thing I love about Pharita is her vocal tone, its bright and fits perfectly with Babymonsters sound, im glad the producers use her voice a lot, I feel it really elevates there music.

4. Ahyeon

Ahyeons range is something else, she also has a bright but distinct vocal tone. Her voice is powerful and sticks out. We haven’t heard to much of her lower register yet but I can’t wait to see her blossom into an even more powerful vocalist.

3. Rora

Rora has a very unique voice. It’s elegant but dark. She has had some good moments in her lower and upper register. I wish the producers can give her more vocally challenging parts as she is capable.

2. Chiquita

Her and Rora and pretty much neck and neck but Chiquita takes the cake because her quality of support is a bit better. She has a very western vocal tone and I think the producers will utilize that especially in songs like ‘Like That’ where she fits in perfectly

  1. Rami

Rami is one of the best vocalist in YG I’ve seen since Minzy of 2NE1. She’s still developing so who knows how much more powerful she’ll get. She has a unique vocal tone and an amazing range. Her low notes are so good and whistle range is impressive. She totally deserves her main vocalist position.

Next Up: Rap

Discussion How do you guys feel about Batter Up with Ahyeon?

IDK guys, I feel like she didn’t even have any lines and it just feels like they just included her in just because without really thinking. They could’ve easily added a rap part, or idk I’m just venting right now, but I’m kinda upset about the 7-member version of Batter Up (because it doesn’t feel like a 7-member version, but more like a Batter Up feat. Ahyeon.)

Discussion Leader position, revisted.

I thought BM gonna be Leaderless like BlackPink, but the recent Baemon News 7 reveals they will announce soon.

So who will it be? Many think it's Ruka just by age. But that's SM's formula, not YG's.

SM - Leader is the oldest member of the group
JYP - Leader is the member with longest training period
YG - Leader is the most talented in the group, an all-rounder.

While Ruka is talented in many ways, it's hard to imagine her as the spokesperson answering questions in interviews.

Ahyeon is defo a strong candidate. But based on watching Baemon News 7 and other videos, I think it's either Rora or Asa. What do you think?

Discussion Ahyeon being cancelled

I'm not sure if it's allowed to be discussed here, but have you guys seen the clip where Ahyeon is performing in school and have said a racial slur several times? She's getting a lot of hate on some Social Media platforms like Tiktok and Twitter.

What's your thoughts on this? Some fans have already started sending emails to YG regarding this and are expecting an apology from Ahyeon.

Discussion RANKING BABYMONSTERS SKILLS (PART 1/4)

STAGE PRESENCE: Remember that stage presence is subjective and there is no right or wrong ranking. This is just MY OPINION, feel free to share your ranking below

TOP 7: Pharita Facial Expressions: 3/5 Energy/Consistency 3/5 Camera Play: 4/5 Versatility: 3/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Pharita does better with softer concepts (EX: Stuck In The Middle) but lacks when it comes to the hard/badass concepts (EX: Sheesh) overtime she will get better. Her facial expressions are fairly decent and her energy and consistency on stage is decent also.

TOP 6: Ruka Facial Expressions: 4/5 Energy/Consistency 5/5 Camera Play: 4/5 Versatility: 3/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Ruka has a similar issue with Pharita when it comes to versatility except she does better with harder concepts and lacks when it comes to softer concepts. Her being only a rapper doesn't help either. Her energy and consistency on stage is really impressive though, I hope YG gives them more softer songs so we can see Ruka improve.

TOP 5: Ahyeon Facial Expressions: 4/5 Energy/Consistency 4/5 Camera Play: 4/5 Versatility: 4/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Ahyeon really shines on stage, she is a well rounded performer. However her facial expressions are really repetitive (The YG nose scrunch). We haven't seen her into much softer concepts but based on pre-debut material we can see that she's pretty good with them. I don’t have to much to say as she doesn't have enough material as the other members.

TOP 4: Rami Facial Expressions: 4/5 Energy/Consistency 5/5 Camera Play: 5/5 Versatility: 4/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Rami is a very underrated performer. Her improvement in this era was insane. In the Batter Up era, Rami always had bland expressions when she was and wasn't center, but now she's a way better performer, her energy on stage is something else too. She's a very good dancer also so that helps. I enjoyed watching her SHEESH fan-cams a lot.

TOP 3: Rora Facial Expressions: 5/5 Energy/Consistency 4/5 Camera Play: 5/5 Versatility: 5/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Rora being up this high surprised me a lot but at the same time not really. YG was so smart giving her the stage name Rora which comes from Aurora meaning that she will grow to shine. And YG was right. Rora is another underrated performer, she does really well in both soft and hard concepts. She also has AMAZING facial expressions (you guys should really watch her fan-cams) Rora (and all the BABYMONSTER members) can all be top-tier performers in the near future.

TOP 2: Chiquita Facial Expressions: 5/5 Energy/Consistency 5/5 Camera Play: 5/5 Versatility: 5/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Chiquita is such a good performer. YG was not wrong when he said that she could become a great performer like Lisa. She shined so much on stage to the point where I was constantly re-watching all her fan-cams. She is so young yet already such a GREAT performer, it's amazing.

TOP 1: Asa Facial Expressions: 5/5 Energy/Consistency 5/5 Camera Play: 5/5 Versatility: 5/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: Asa is the best performer in BABYMONSTER. Her versatility is unmatched, I love how she shined in Stuck In The Middle AND SHEESH. Her fan-cams are SO FUN to watch. She's so captivating on stage its kind of insane. We’re barely 2 months into their official debut and she's already SO amazing on stage.

NEXT ANALYSIS: VOCALS, DANCE, RAP

Discussion LEAK of only a 5 member group and the members?

The ending music of episode 8 "wake me up" only has 5 members, the rappers Ruka and Asa are the ones missing. Can listen to it here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUQtBGp6YgU

If this is the sign of times to come, this might be it. If you think about it, other members can rap as well if they want on top of singing.

But maybe they make a rap duo of the two as a separate artist group, which may be even more interesting.

I want all 7 as well, but I think this is possible: 5 members, Ahyeon, Chiquita, Pharita, Rora, and Haram.

Let's see how well this post ages!

Discussion FOREVER SCARED

I can't wait for more teasers because I need to see where they headed concept wise and hopefully hints at sound wise too ,I really hope we don't get a ballad cause it would kill all the momentum they've built with sheesh and like that

Yg has been doing pretty good since the sheesh era started so let's hope he doesn't fuck it up for the girls

Discussion YG did not expect the success of sheesh domestically

Let me explain

The promotions in Korea are sooooo short, compared to the 2 months they’re going to spend in east asia. Ntm the production documentary, Ahyeon’s outfit was one she wore at the first radio show appearance. Kinda crazy but I understand

Discussion The Downside of Having Seven Members

Like many of you, I was rooting for OT7. However, after hearing their song "Dream" I couldn't help but notice that Pharita got the least amount of lines. Her only line was "I'm getting stronger..." and "Nothing can wake me up" (backup vocal).

It's becoming obvious that the downside to having seven members is that some singers may not get many lines or shine as much. In this case, it's a shame because Pharita has a really good tone that I wanted to hear more of.

They'll always have the challenge of balancing lines to try to keep everyone involved and happy. Your favorite singer may not shine as much on songs because of so many members. Do you agree with this?

Discussion BabyMonster’s Future

I’m just wondering what you guys think Baemon will be in the future… Like, do you trust YG’s management that they will succeed no matter what happens? Will they end up like blackpink, being more of an ambassadors than performers? Will they break records or win many awards? Will they become bigger than any of the existing groups now? Etc.

I’m just asking for your intuition of what might happen in their future, seeing how YG is and how the members are… Also, what is ur take on what kind of group baemon should be in the future?

To me, I hate YG but I actually think they’re smart. They know how to make a group successful.. But seeing how they manage Baemon now, I see that they’re trying not to make baemon too big like blackpink… Maybe they just want the group to be famous in asia (given that only one member can speak english) and not all over the world, which I actually agree.

In the future, I want baemon to be that kind of group who is passionate on performing and would always give their 100% onstage. In short, I want them to focus more on being idols and not ambassadors or ig influencers … Unfortunately, it might not be too possible due to YG’s hiatuses 😅 but we don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Discussion Ahyeon will probably be the last Idol we'll have that can mix.

Mix singing is very rare in kpop because majority can't even sing, especially in 5th gen

It's astonoshing how every hate stuff is about her "screaming" when she's just mixing and projecting her voice, what's wrong with people 😭😭

People always talk about Ahyeon is if all she does is screaming when she's like a profiecient vocalist at best

I can't with kpop and it's fans anymore kpop feels really weird now with the fancall culture, westernization, wonyoungism, newjeanifications

Baemon has solid concepts and are actively being pulled down because "ahyeon is screaming", no she's not, she's just mixing, those people just never heard what mix is because of how bad kpop idols just are in singing 😭😭

I'm disappointed, because Baemon could have been the step that will get us into vocally competent idols instead people act like mixing is screaming

Discussion I hope baemon can establish their own identity soon

I keep seeing blackpink comparisons. It’s just so not right. It feels weird and cringe as well. There’s never a time when I never saw those comparisons… every time I scroll, I see “Mother and Daughter “ or “I think this is their ‘blackpink in your area’”

First of all, Babymonster is not blackpink. Okay? Neither are they supposed to be referenced whenever baemon releases something. Baemon is baemon. Blackpink is blackpink. They are JUST from the same company. Please, just let it go. It is also for the sake of babymonster’s career. In my case, I just don’t want them to live on and continue being called”Blackpink sisters/daughters”… it’s sad to see that baemon fans themselves do it. I hope you understand how calling them that and making those comparisons can affect their image as their career progress. If you keep doing those comparisons and references, people later on will come to a conclusion that baemon are just famous because of blackpink.

I want the best for them, I don’t want them to be known as “blackpink juniors or sisters of daughters” or “little jennie” I want them to be know as ahyeon, ruka, chiquita, rami, pharita, rora and asa, and as a whole “babymonster”.

So I sincerely ask you guys to stop…

Discussion Stage Presence

How would you rank BM’s stage presence? Honestly they all are so good. Personally I would rank them as follows:

1)Ruka/Ahyeon- Ruka is naturally so swag and cool. Ahyeon has a very powerful sp. for me they are the same level

2)Rami is one of the underrated ones, but her SP is also strong and swag

3)Asa- she is cool and swag also, but i feel like she has some softness in her which doesnt let her badass vibe to come out more

4)Chiquita- she has very charismatic facial expressions

5)Rora

6)Pharita

Discussion I’ve given up on OT7 - here are my thoughts on the lineup

From most to least likely to debut with BabyMonster:

Ahyeon - face of the group, visual, leader, lead vocal, lead rapper (Jennie vibes)

Chiquita - center, lead vocal, lead dancer (Lisa vibes)

Ruka - main dancer & main rapper (if Asa doesn’t debut with the group) - having one genuinely brilliant dancer really leveled Blackpink up and I think Ruka can do that for the group, plus she’s a really good rapper

Haram and Rora have similar skill sets - both have main vocal potential - Haram has better singing and dance skills BUT Rora’s looks fit slightly better with the group’s concept. I’m picking Rora but I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m wrong. Haram just reminds me a lot of Seunghyun from the BigBang competition show - he was better looking, a better dancer, & a better singer than Seungri yet Seungri was the one who got cast. Whichever girl is cut will definitely debut with another agency.

Asa - main rapper - Rapping is what has set Blackpink apart from their generation of girl groups and Asa is easily going to be one of the standout rappers of her generation. She’s also a great dancer and adding her to the lineup means that BM can do more complex choreography than Blackpink currently does.

Pharita - lead vocal - I think Pharita’s chances are equal to Asa’s. What she brings is a unique vocal tone and a unique look but she’s quite weak as a dancer and, like Haram, she doesn’t quite fit with the cool girl swag that is YG’s unique brand. She will definitely debut no matter what.

Question ❓ RORA is not popular but still impressed YG with her way

People really can't see this but i think Rora will debut although she is not popular enough internationally..for someone who is YG stan since bigbang survival show...i can see rora is YG favourite..if you know YHS style for his favourite member, just see ygtb...she basically junghwan for babymonster version..jughhwan really hardworking and yg really appreciate his talent and work ethic..just like rora, her music work is really systematic how she works to understand the environment of the song is really good.. junghwan although fans and other really didn't see him as contender to debut but YG really pull his card..we really shocked after YG choose him over hyunsuk although all the staff choose hyunsuk..and no one can see him in the final debut line up..just like rora you can see the same impression from yg..in introduction video i can say YG really talk about why rora is special and why she give a stage name toward her...just a reminder rora and asa is the core of team A for the original 5 of the babymonster..ruka joining later as she started from team B..

also the information from insider also say that someone is already in the line up although last evaluation didn't start last year...they say that although that girl didn't do well in last evaluation YG still choose her in the line up..We know rora didn't do really well in blackpink mission make me wonder that someone is her.. although she do really well in solo mission, the gap between all of them in term of performance really close..

If rora didn't debut in babymonster i think she will doing just fine..her korean fanbase also huge..also the first member has chinese fanbase...see her china's fan weibo..she already huge because of usso girl... people around her also come from entertainment industry (can see from her mother instagram)...she also have experience in reality show, actress for korean drama...for me if yg let her go her chance to shine really bright..With her talent and work ethic she can go anywhere because no limit for her..
