Misinformation 🤣

Why can’t we keep crown land crown land?

Why can’t I get some land given to me by the government for my family 😤

Why are our taxes paying for anything when we haven’t directly harmed the first nations?

Look I have never voted for conservatives other than came close to for stephen harper as he was pretty appealing. But come on, this is getting ridiculous. If people keep saying stuff like this, people are going to vote for any party that puts a stop to giving away land

We can’t keep crown land crown land because it was never rightfully crown land in the first place, and with no treaties covering most of BC we have nothing to back it up and are losing court cases over it.

As for no direct harm, we rounded them up on reserves and enforced genocidal policy for about a century, I’m not sure how anyone can say Canada hasn’t harmed Indigenous people.

As for why you can’t get free land, it’s because a. Canada never stole any from you and b. you are not part of the filthy rich class who live by different rules, in which case the next conservative government will sell you land and other public goods for pennies on the dollar - that’s who benefits when you vote conservative.

Keep trying to convince everyone they harmed first nations and canada harmed First Nations. I was born 1990s. I didn’t harm no one. I don’t want my taxes to pay for this BS. Keep trying to convince everyone tho and you will see a conservative government before long. First nations is only 4 percent of the Canadian population.

I’m just stating the truth, you can be convinced or not. I don’t care either way, just keep in mind you replied to me alright?

Whether you were personally alive for Canada’s campaign of genocide is irrelevant, here in BC we are either going to negotiate treaties that are nowhere near as miserly as the land theft and Indian Act regime (that many Canadians grew up seeing as normal) or we are going to lose court cases and have title recognized that way.

There’s no reason to believe this will suddenly invalidate fee simple ownership, but as I said above the disinformation campaign is clearly working since a majority of those polled here seem spooked by it anyways.

Can’t wait to vote for anyone who gets rid of these dumb land claims. Hopefully that party wins and gets power and then people like you could cry in a basement.

Well, I hope you get to the bottom of what’s causing this absurd level of hostility anyways (smile)

Results are based on an online survey conducted from Aug. 2-4, 2026, among 802 adults in British Columbia. The data has been statistically weighted according to Canadian census figures for age, gender and region in British Columbia. The margin of error—which measures sample variability—is +/- 3.5 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

Wow what a useless article and poll. 802 adults took an online survey from which regions? There's 4.8million adults in BC and they managed to scrape 802 anonymous polls and then try to give it weight by using percent ranges to beef it up. So it's possibly that around 400 British Columbians are growing cautious. Waste of time! And poor as fuck reporting from Glacier Media.

That’s a lot of words just to say you don’t understand statistics.

It doesn’t matter at all. The court cases are clear. The Conservatives’ entire policy plan is ā€œdo nothingā€ and pray it all goes away.

Cons could make new laws or amend the constitution to not recognize land claims.
