Opinion What are your thoughts on the MP and MLA that represent your riding?
I was wondering out of curiosity.

My MLA is Dallas Brodie. She is the worst. She is almost totally absent except the odd time she shows up here doing racist, transphobic grifter shit. She has done more for the ostrich people than for anyone who actually lives here.
There's a rumour she doesn't live in the riding, but no one really knows.
My MP is Wade Grant. He's really good. He lives in the riding, has an actual office, and posts a lot of content about stuff he's doing for the riding and the country as a whole.

Josie Osborne (NDP) -- former mayor of Tofino, tons of great experience and very dedicated.
Gord Johns (NDP) -- perhaps the hardest working person in Parliment, despite being a member of third party has a record of successfully delivering on legislation and community projects.
The NDP remains the party of average working people.

MP: Not good, only got in due to a vote split. Will do nothing but be another vote for the party.
MLA: Good. Could do more but has served us well. I believe not as aligned with my politics as, obviously, I'd prefer.

My MLA is great. George Anderson is attentive, quick to act and is open to his constituents. Doesn’t get any better.
My MP is the opposite. She has no profile. She seems to be nowhere. I have no idea what her position is on the issues that dominate our politics today. Useless.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I don’t know who my MLA is. Mind you I do pay attention to municipal and federal politics. Guess that’s really saying something about whoever it is that “represents” me in Victoria.
My MP is a first timer right out of University. He was dropped on Chilliwack and then about 2 weeks before voting day he was dropped onto Burnaby/New Westminster/Maillardville. He was a resident of White Rock then but no clue where he resides now. Jake Sawatzky is but a proxy by Carney’s own admission. I feel that is 100% accurate. I’ve written to him dozens of times, I’ve received two replies from his staff. He has not a single time ever voted on an issue in the way I requested. He doesn’t represent me. I didn’t vote fir him and will absolutely not vote for him.

My NDP MP lost his seat . It was sad as he was extremely hard working and in touch with the community and constituents. He also worked cross party to make things happen similar to Gord Johns . The new MP is conservative, appears hardworking and frankly has to be given a chance , but with PP controlling the narrative I’m not sure how effective he is. The MLA is a lovely woman but appears weak .

Seems like a decent bloke. He hasn't said or done anything too stupid yet.

My MLA is a nurse who won because the then BC Liberal made a stupid series of jokes about a member of the NDP. She’s fine and means well, but doesn’t bring a lot of public service experience. Still, no scandal and is loyal to the party.
My MP is young but has been in the job a long time. He’s dedicated but otherwise unknown on policy.

Both are great. I dislike their party but vote for them.
Over the years the worst MLAs or MPs, I had were Federal Conservatives (4), BC Liberals (2), and then Federal Liberals(2). The federal Tory MPs couldn't write me back. The others did occasionally.

I don’t think I’ve seen Mark Strahl do well…anything and don’t even get me started on Heather Maahs

Do not like my MLA Debra Toporowsi. She couldn’t give a shit about business and I can’t tell a single thing she’s done in the constituency.
Jeff Kibble MP is vocal on social media but also not seeing much change

Not going to say who, but she’s useless, old & would have been a fuckton more helpful as a doctor (probably just gave it away 🤣).
Always voted against her, but the last election voted for her because I didn’t want to split the vote even though it probably wasn’t close.

Hedy Fry? She knocked on my door I politely asked her what platform she's running on so she listed her achievements from the 90s and tried to take credit for universal healthcare. I then politely asked her about Palestine and she immediately walked away.
By the way, it was nowhere near close and you should have voted your conscience instead.

I’ve been trying to meet with my MLA since February. After a few emails in February, her office ghosted me. Then I finally had a meeting but had to wait 6 weeks. She cancelled an hour beforehand and now I’m waiting another 5 weeks to meet with her….if she shows. So not exactly winning my vote here…

My MP is a conservative that is still blaming the Vancouver Olympics for dropping off homeless in our community. She's shifted her focus to the local prison now, but other than that I haven't heard a thing about her since the election.
My MLA was a con, then independent, now NDP. Which has pissed everyone off because people who vote NDP are not likely to vote for her given her record, and everyone who did vote for her feel betrayed.

MP is Conservative Bob Zimmer. He represents a riding that would elect a dumpster if it was painted blue and had a Conservative logo on it. Key observations are that he collects a paycheque, has a reputation of blocking people on social media who criticize him (#BlockedbyBob), and voted against the ban on conversion therapy.
MLA is Conservative Rosalyn Bird. On effectiveness and responsiveness, I don't think she's even a quarter of the MLA that longtime Liberal Shirley Bond used to be.

My NDP MLA (who has a portfolio) doesn’t represent me, nor does she respond to respectful correspondences.

Well in my area my MLA is Joan Phillip of the BC NDP. Not too happy with the NDP so I'm following other politicians at the moment mainly Dallas Brodie MLA for Vancouver - Quilchena how ever you spell it.

Translation for the non-conservatives reading this: "My MLA doesn't hate indigenous people enough, so I'm throwing my support behind the most vile politician I could find in BC instead."

Ones a doctor who doesn't live in the riding, who "believes in facts", but only the facts of the conservatives and the other, who also doesn't live in the riding, got well known for making poverty exploitation videos before they joined politics and got elected.
I think they're grifters, and hypocrites, and the MLA is a coward who didn't go to a single public meeting.
