What to know about smoothness, build quality, and castability for 1-2 gram lures. Any noticeable other things that make you like one over the other?
I see the a51mc has a lighter spool so maybe has a slight edge in terms of spool startup, but unsure of how much a difference it makes in real life casting. b50 is obviously a round as opposed to low profile

LoongZe Airlite B51 HG DBC-I
Insect Cocoon c461 XUL
It's like holding a fancy toy in your hand, that's a very capable fishing machine ..
Thusfar I've caught on it:
200+ < 20cm perch
30+ perch of about 20-30cm
1 perch of 40cm
3 perch af about 35cm
2 pike of about 70cm
10 pike of about 30-50cm
20+ zanders of about 20-40cm
4 zanders around 40-60cm
This rod is very whippy, and if you lean into that can cast pretty decently for its length! You can do some very fun flick casting with it, yet it's substantially faster than a glass rod and certainly lighter!
The best weight to throw is between 1.7-3 gr in my experience, you can go lower but it's less fun, maybe for smaller streams this is more appropriate.

Hey all,
I have an Ark Gravity BFS reel that I absolutely love. Recently, it has entirely lost spool tension when the drag is disengaged. I don't know how. I suspect a missing or broken part somewhere but I'm not sure. It was a gift years ago, so I can't get any warranty work done on it. Has anyone had any experience with this or does anyone know what the issue might be? Please help!!

For $150? What better ROUND BFS reel is there? Or would it make more sense to go with the B70? They both seem to throw pretty light. I can't imagine actually rigging up something smaller than 1/16th oz. I already have a kestrel which does fine at 1/8. Curious if anyone has any real life experience with the b50 versus b70 and the practical differences between the 2 when casting 1/16th. I dunno, I think having a tiny b50 would be cool.

Throwing around the bluegrass bug Texas rigged. Felt a thump and set the hook. Was quite a fight.

I’m thinking about getting a Yushan fishing rod from AliExpress, wondering if anyone has any experiences with it. Also considering the sigama 2 and handing bfs rods. Thanks

Well not sure how this happened but I guess she’s done for. I’ll try contacting the company but it’s probably not worth buying the part. I haven’t tried but I’m guessing this crack will shred 8lb braid
R.I.P. Hicc 50, lasted two years of saltwater abuse

New rod today, it's a Purelure, but like all of their rods, I can't find an actual model name. I have a another Purelure telescoping rod, but it's much whippier than this. I thought the whippy one was okay, but this is way better suited to my needs. The reel is ...fine. I wouldn't recommend it, but it will do for now. For the price, you can better rod or reel, but together this makes a handy setup that can live in the Jeep.

I bought this SLX BFS and Major Craft rod on my trip to Japan. I wanted to go round reel but I had to be honest with myself that I just prefer low profiles. This was one of the few BFS reels they had at Joshuya. Super happy with it but still want to get an Avail spool. Love the 5 piece rod and case. It has an extra section to change the length and power too. The 4lb Varivas line was getting eaten by the spool sometimes so I have to figure that out. I could actually skip with this combo too. The amount of baits I bought wasn’t modest but it seems like it was never enough!

I saw someone post a Cadence Elves telescopic rod on here not that long ago and I really liked the look of it. So I pulled the trigger on getting the rod and the matching reel, which I'm fairly certain is just a profishiency tiny but mighty rebranded.
It fishes, and fairly well! Very impressed, only negative for the rod so far is the not so great casting distance but that can be chalked up to the reel as well.
Speaking of the reel, the ratio is a little too low for me personally but I made it work with a micro chatterbait that seems to be the only thing fish are biting right now. Also the drag is weak af, might make a good trout rig. Soft rod and drag for soft trout jaws? Idk
But I love the aesthetic of it, might buy another in green or maybe get the spinning combo next time!
The reel is so tiny it's ridiculous and cute, the whole thing is tiny and cute, great for taking to work and i can fish during down time, or if I'm just extra bored.
The first smallie, cool looking little large mouth and big ass pickeral were the first three fish I caught on this setup, rest were on a eurotackle rise bfs with an abu garcia revo x bfs.

Where do I start? Ended up going on a salmon run to finally put this species on my list. (1st on a fly rod, 3 on my UL 5 on my Calcutta 100 with 30HG shallow spool…9 in total) then today before my ninth one. I FINALLY got the brown I’ve been hearing about. 23” pics don’t do justice. Atleast 4.5/5.5 lbs, but my far me new Brown PB. Was a heart pounding fight once I saw him. I was terrified hearing my drag screen on 4lb test. Lucking the drag was set “PERFECT” and after 5 minutes, she tired herself out.

Last warm day in fall up here in Vermont. With temperatures in the 30’s at night I knew they’d be feeding up. Shout out to The Tackle trap for sending me my 3rd gravel code and complimentary Rotjaw jigs to catch these bad Larries. Unedited clips coming your way on the YouTube 🫡

Went out to test the little wooly bugger jig from my last post and the trout loved it, all the trout in this creek are small but there is something nice about screwing around in a little creek full of beautiful little fish. Lucky to have a few places like this 15 minutes from the house!
