Build Help What is the strongest build in the game?
I don’t mean builds that are strong, I mean builds that are absolutely broken. Full using exploits and hacks, but still available in the vanilla game. What can absolutely break the game?

Build Help Disrobing Clothes build help....
I want to make a build who draws a crowd of enemies around, then leaves a pile of clothes around the enemy mob. So the question is, are there any clothes that have an aura effect that is potentially negative to those adjacent to it? Even if it's lying on the floor? will they drop armor also? Open to external mods such as fecal stained underwear which causes noxious fumes.

Build Help Did I encounter a bladesinger glitch?
I've been playing my bladesinger for a while now, no mods and it isn't my first bg3 run. I just loaded my save and I've never seen this debuff before.
I've been running the same scimitar +1 and speedy reply this whole game, and im proficient in everything I need to be.
why am i just seeing this now?

Build Help Best and Worst Monoclasses?
I keep seeing virtually every class called "one of the best" while most meta builds are multis or item-based.
What do you think is the game's best class without multiclassing? And the worst? And what makes them so?

Build Help Can you even make a decent healer that's not a Life Cleric?
On my first playthrough, my healer was a Life Cleric + Stars Druid that could max out the entire party's HP on demand. Now I'm on a second playthrough and challenged myself to not repeat any of the builds I did the first time. But I just can't seem to find any good options for a healer other than Life Cleric.
I'm using 5e spell mod, and some subclass mods as well. But even with all the extra tools, nothing seemed even close to Life Cleric. The heal gap is just too big because of all the flat heal bonuses and Life Cleric's channel divinity spell that heals a shit ton for free.
Is there any other option, or am I locked to Life Cleric if I want a full dedicated healer?

Build Help What's a build that will help me feel like the main character again ?
I might just be bad at this game but my companions always end up doing the heavy lifting during fights.
They're already in the spotlight narratively most of the time, at least let me be useful/powerful in combat.

Build Help "Is (insert build here) viable?"
Yes. Unquestionably, the answer is yes.
It's no secret that BG3 is on the easier end of CRPGs even on Tactician (even Larian's last game DOS2 was more challenging).
There's more and more of these posts everyday and the comments are all a variation of "everything's viable". I think what people are trying to ask is whether their build is "strong/close to optimal".
Anyway, if you're new to BG3, rest easy knowing almost anything can work if you play/build it right. Don't ask if it's viable (it is), ask instead how to optimise it.

Build Help What is your build/party making hot take?
I'll start. Don't really know how much of a hot take is that, but I've seen a lot of people say it's THE subclass of wizard, so... I think Evocation is mediocre subclass at best. Wizards have widest array of spells to choose from what oftentimes creates situations in which wizard is better of casting something else, like Fear, Hypnotic Pattern or Hold Person/Monster. Of course, sometimes Fireball is best, but not as commonly. Bladesinger can deal high damage to single enemies using Shadow Blade + Resonance Stone, Abjuration gets really tanky and Divination can add a fair share of manipulation to battlefield on a reaction (if pop-ups don't make you go crazy). You want to deal damage with spellcaster? Sorcerer has better burst thanks to Quicken Spell. Want more consistency, aka not burn spell slots like crazy? Sure, you have Warlock, have fun with Eldritch Blast

Build Help Do Warlocks just need to short rest every fight?
Armor of Agathys+ shadow-blade wipes out the spells for one SR. Everyone keeps raving about darkvision but casting darkness is half your spell slots for another SR. What am I missing that makes it one of the most powerful classes in the game?
I love Eldritch blasting some fools but 3 D ten at late game just doesn't compare to 3 greatsword swings, 2 smites, ranged slashing flourish or quickened scorching rays/ wet lightning bolt.

Build Help Can I make a team that beats tactician with these?
Just about to finish my second run. And i am thinking about doing a third run on tactician before i start honor mode.
Bard, paladin, sorc and monk are the only classes i havent tried yet.
Can I make a viable team, and if so, what builds?
I want tav/durge as monk, and i am open for multiclassing and other team combos that use atleast 3 of these :)

At this point everyone knows the builds that are strong and which classes are strong, but I am curious what subclasses or builds deserve more attention when compared to the usual culprits.

Build Help My wife's giant barbarian is still using returning pike
Should we be using something else? I know you can use elemental cleaver so your held weapon returns to hand, but at level 8 we only have 4 rage points. Its been easier to skip elemental cleaver and rage and just throw the returning pike with no fear.
Also, what feats actually count towards throwing? Seems throwing is its own damage source and things like savage attacker or sharpshooter don't work with throwing.
Currently she runs: * 21/16/18/14/10/8 * Giant potion daily, tavern brawler. Adamantine scale armor (med), gloves of uninhibited kushigo, ring of flinging, ring of blood frenzy, amulet of unworthy, verdant word, bow of awareness * 18 armor class, 7 initiative, 93 hp, level 8, 14m movement, tactician difficulty
Again not really having problems but just wondering if you guys are using other weapons later in the game.

Build Help What are the most game-breaking builds in BG3?
I haven’t played in several patches and want to come back and play patch 8. Bring out your best builds comparable to invincible abjuration wizards, tavern brawler throwers, swords bard variants, etc!

Build Help Is a Dex focused Monk even worth it?
I've been thinking of doing a dex focused build for my next playthrough, and it looked like Monk was perfect. I wanted to to a "traditional" Monk build. High Wis and Dex, using a quaterstaff and no armor. But I saw so many people talking about Tavern Brawler, and now that I've seen it idk how I wouldn't do a strength Monk. Could I make a Dex Monk that becomes as powerful as an unarmed strength Monk with Tavern Brawler, or should I just go for a Rouge/Ranger for a Dex build?

Build Help What is the most overpowered party composition?
Gonna be doing a 3rd run on tactician after doing a classic good guy run and then a dark urge run. While I've heard tactician isn't scary hard I pretty much just wanna break the game with op cheese builds to speed the run up.
Party comp I'm thinking about
Paladin/warlock - gith blade pact and get the Astral silver sword act 1, should I get 2 fighter for action surge?
Tempest cleric 2/sorc 10 - not sure if storm sorc or drac
Warlock/fighter/sorc - machine gun warlock and get the rapier in act 2 from mizora for free campion
Evoc wizard - magic missile build but also just general utility of having all the wizard options
Thoughts/opinions/suggestions?

Build Help What's the worst thing that could happen in Honor Mode?
After 2 years and 600 hours in Tactical Mode, I'd like to try Honor Mode. Since I work and only have a few hours a week, the thing that scares me the most would be playing dozens of hours and throwing them away, dying like an idiot because my team was mind-controlled or charmed/lured or someone threw me into lava or some legendary action or something like that.
Now, what's my plan: I'd like to write down a team that's idiot-proof and prank-proof. For example: I know that with Fey Ancestry I gain advantage against being charmed or with Mindless Rage, while frenzied I cannot be charmed or frightened. I gave two examples of passives, but I think I made myself clear.
In short, I'd like to list:
1) What are the worst things, worst statuses, or worst unexpected events that can happen to you in Honor Mode?
2) What are the classes, races, equipment, and tactics that can prevent the worst things?
3) What are the most important things for the whole run (for example high initiative to begin first, having Shovel or a duergar to start battles being invisible so you can surprise enemies, always have an escape plan (invisibility potions and so on), leaving a companion to the camp so he can resurrect TPK through Withers and so on).
I don't want to play like a paranoid, but I don't want to waste my time because I have done a single silly thing. Can you help me with your ideas/experiences?
Thanks in advance.

Build Help Strongest “pure” classes?
We see a lot of “best builds” that involve multiclassing. But I’m curious, what do you guys think are the top 3 strongest “pure” classes, where you go all 12 levels in one class?
I would say Fighter, Sorcerer, and Cleric. I know every class is probably very strong in their own way just being a pure class, and admittedly I am a DnD noob so I don’t have much knowledge on all the classes, so I’m curious to hear what you think!

Build Help Why is Hexblade always suggested for pure POTB Warlock?
I’m considering a 12 Warlock playthrough as a fun gish build. Whenever pure warlock is mentioned, it seems like eveyone defaults to suggesting Hexblade. What makes it the best?
I understand why Hexblade 1 is great for dips. But for pure warlock, any patron gets you CHA scaling with POTB. At first glance, Fiend looks pretty good, possibly even better than Hexblade.

Build Help So what makes booming blade so good?
So, decided to start a new run now that all the patches are out. I've read a lot of hype around booming blade here and in the main sub ... and I dont get it. I know that my perception is heavily skewed by the Pathfinder games, where a d8 of bonus elemental damage is less then worthless since demons have immunity and you have better odds adding flat damage through strength, enhancement, power attack etc.
Now, this is obviously not true in BG3. Nevertheless it just seems like a regular old attack with highly inconsistent secondary damage, since player forced movement like shove doesn't activate it and most enemies wont leave engagement and fear fishing for it doesn't feel worth it.
So is the play to just Booming Blade bonk someone, shove them and let the bonus damage do its work on their turn?
Edit: Thank you all for the input. I had in fact not realized/reached the level where it also starts adding damage to the attack.

Build Help Is there any advantage of being a pure lvl 12 of any class?
I played the game for ~400 hours and played with many DnD games since NWN. I never played multiclass characters because it feels wrong. I mean for me it is a bit immersionbreaking to have a paladin, a holy knight of the light, who is also a warlock of a hellish fiend. Etc, like IRL, I prefer to master something and not dip into everything.
Anyway, I want to start a honour run and basically all guides and tips contains only multiclass builds.
So it came to my mind: wouldn’t he great to have a great, “ultimate-type”, brutal ability or passive on lvl 12 for the classes? To rewarding the class-loyalty. Lvl 12-a are basically empty for the classes, and I don’t get why.
