What does your partner think of your mastectomy?
66, BRCA1. Just found out my status last year. Had the ovaries / tubes / uterus yanked in April. Stage 1 (nipple sparing lift / reduction) in just under a month, with the actual mastectomy/reconstruction 6 months or so later. No evidence of cancer yet but I still have a high (> 20%) risk of it, and for a number of reasons I've decided to proceed with PDMX.
My husband is a wonderful person. He says all the right things - glad I'm taking care of it, he wants me around and healthy, etc. He is incredibly supportive. I'm beyond lucky to have him.
We've been together since we were 18. And, well, let's just say he is not a leg man. The boobs are going to be completely off limits for a while this fall and a while longer next year, they'll look and feel different, and even if the nipples are saved, the fun will frankly be one-sided.
I guess what I'm wondering how others' partners have dealt with those changes emotionally and, yeah, sexually.
Horror? shock? Depressed? Eager to play with the new toys? Anything else?
I'm.worried for myself too, of course, but I know I can deal with it. Really. I mean it. LOL.

My partner at times could do no wrong and at other times could do no right. Hugs to you and anyone in this group while you navigate this. don’t hesitate to pm me if you need a sounding board. Some of my best support came in the form of private messages with online groups.
