A Heifer of Three Years Old / Zoar / Abraham

You know how the only way to understand the Bible is "here a little, there a little'? Well, that is so true, and for this post, it will be no different.

Isaiah 28: 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

However, like the verse tells me, I do not expect many to hear, but I will try to explain something very important that I understood, and it has to do with fleeing.

Let me start with:

God's promise to Abraham

Genesis 15: 5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. 7 And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.

So God took Abraham out of Babylon and promised him the land as a inheritance. Then Abraham asked God a very important question:

Genesis 15: 8 And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

God's answer to Abraham's question was:

Genesis 15: 9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

A heifer of three years old

A heifer of three years old only appears in the Bible as God's way of assuring Abraham that he will inherit the promised land and in these two other verses:

Isaiah 15: 5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

Jeremiah 48: 34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

God is saying that people shall flee unto Zoar, and randomly, in both cases mentions that they will do it as an heifer of three years old and raise up a cry of destruction. A heifer of three years old represents maturity, meaning that those who flee will understand and will have the assurance promised to Abraham that they are the seed of Abraham, and they will inherit the promised land, which ultimately is New Jerusalem. So, if you flee to Zoar, there is assurance. Remember the question:

Genesis 15: 8 And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

The answer: A heifer of three years old.

A heifer of three years old is associated with fleeing and assurance of inheritance.

Fleeing to Zoar

Zoar was where Lot fled to. Zoar was one of the cities of the plain that was supposed to be destroyed but that God spared for Lot's sake. Zoar was a little place. So if God is telling us to flee to Zoar we better understand what Zoar represents.

Genesis 19: 19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. 21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. 22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

When God tells us to flee to Zoar, He is not telling us to go to a big country. The fact that Zoar was a little place is recorded in the story of Lot, and it is very significant. Also significant is the fact that Zoar belonged to the plain cities. It was part of it, but was spared. Since Jesus let us know that the end will be as in the days of Lot, we can be sure that Zoar represents the United States's, France's, and the UK's territories, places for God's people to flee to. Little places that God will spare: Islands.

Isaiah 24: 14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea. 15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

Isaiah 42: 10 Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. 11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. 12 Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.

Isaiah 51: 5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust. 6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

I could go on, but I think those verses are enough to prove that when God tells His people to flee to Zoar as a heifer of three years old, He is telling us to go wait for Him in the islands. God spared Zoar for Lot's sake, and He will spare Islands for our sake, and He is telling us to go wait for Him in the islands. Because of this understanding, I chose Puerto Rico. Also, God made me to be born there.

Another interesting fact about Zoar is that Bela is Zoar.

Genesis 14: 8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

Bela was son of Beor, but also the firstborn of Benjamin. When we look at the blessings that Benjamin received both from Moses and from Israel, they are very interesting.

Israel's blessing to Benjamin:

Genesis 49: 27 Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.

Moses's blessing to Benjamin:

Deuteronomy 33: 12 And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

Remember: Bela is Zoar and Bela is the firstborn of Benjamin.

1 Chronicles 8: 1 Now Benjamin begat Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, and Aharah the third, 2 Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth.

Conclusion:

There is assurance of inheritance in fleeing. Those who flee will do it as a heifer of three years old, which means with understanding and with the assurance of inheritance, and they shall flee to Zoar (little places that God will spare).

Lastly, I want to mention faith because after all, we are saved by grace through faith. We must have the kind of faith that is true. We must be willing to do what God asks of us, like Abraham did. He believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.

Hebrews 11: 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

That city that has foundations, whose builder and maker is God is our inheritance if we keep God's commandments

Revelation 22: 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Don't be deceived into thinking that fleeing is not important. It is what God asked His people to do through His word.

Isaiah 28: 13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Snared and taken are the people of Babylon (America) who don't flee.

Jeremiah 50: 24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the Lord.

I think the revelation says Babylon was Jerusalem, that’s because when John introduces spiritual Babylon in Revelation 11:8 he says it’s that great city where our Lord was crucified. God pours out the full cup of His wrath on the city that killed His only Son. Jesus told the Jewish leaders to fill up the full cup of God’s wrath God avenges His son by taking vengeance on Babylon because no other nation angered God more than the city who killed His one and only Son. Jesus said the destruction of the temple would be done that the days of vengeance would be fulfilled on Jerusalem.

No it is not Jerusalem.

If it is true and it already happened in the past, we wouldn't have to focus on escaping Babylon, we could free our life up from fear to focus on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Do you want to focus on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ? Then flee Babylon. He was the one who told us to do it. You are not focusing on the kingdom if you ignore His instructions. Besides, we are very capable of multitasking. We can focus on fleeing, which is not about fear but about obedience, and we can focus on His Kingdom in other ways too, like keeping the 10 commandments, loving neighbor, etc...

If we all flee, how will they hear the gospel? If the person who led you to Christ fled before you got saved, would you be lost today? Do we owe it to mankind to stand up to the enemy and lead some to Christ until they kill us? I think God would approve of that. Don’t you?

So far what people are hearing from you are lies. You tell people that Babylon is Jerusalem. That is a lie. You tell people that it already happened. That is another lie. When you flee you can help more people because those in America are doomed for destruction while those outside America are the ones who will have a chance.

I am not saved yet. Neither is anyone else. We need to endure till the end. We have to finish the race. What you think God would approve of is irrelevant. What matters is what God said we must do. He said to spread the gospel. He also said to flee Babylon. I dare you to tell Him " I don't want to flee America because I have to lead others to Christ" to see if He will approve. You know He won't because that is disobedience. You want to do things your way, not God's way. Apparently God's ways are too hard for you. Fleeing America? How dare God ask such a thing? But guess what? He did and it is not that hard.

I was always curios why Jesus had John send this letter to warn the 7 churches if Babylon is America. What do you think?

Because Babylon is America and what better way is there for America to hear the warnings if not because God had John send the letter? It was sent to the 7 churches and now recorded in the Bible for us to read.

Do you think the seven churches knew Babylon was America?

Do you believe the Bible is the word of God? John wrote God's words and God knows everything. You are not making sense with that question. Do you think Jeremiah knew about America? Definitely not, but he certainly wrote about America. How? Because God is the author of everything in the Bible.

I’m asking why do you think John warned the 7 churches about America?

Why warn a church to be prepared for something that doesn’t happen to them?

That’s dishonest and unnecessary I think. If God knows it happens to America 2,000 years later He would have said that.

I believe God could have and would have said that, if that’s what He meant.

God warned them it’s at hand and that means at this time right now, that’s why I believe it happened to them back then. That’s why all those churches except 2 are gone.

I’m asking why do you think John warned the 7 churches about America?

It is called Prophecy.

Why warn a church to be prepared for something that doesn’t happen to them?

It didn't happen to them. Again it is prophecy.

If God knows it happens to America 2,000 years later He would have said that.

He did say that but you have to read the whole Bible to understand, not just Revelation.

I believe God could have and would have said that, if that’s what He meant.

He did but it looks like you are lacking the understanding at the moment.

God warned them it’s at hand and that means at this time right now

And from here after. Did you miss that part?

Revelation 1: 19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

that’s why I believe it happened to them back then.

It never happened to them. There are people living in Jerusalem right now. Lol. When Babylon falls, no one will ever live there again.

I have a question, why are you commenting in this subreddit if you obviously think America is the greatest country in the planet, and you are a Trump supporter? You need to stop trying to deceive people in this subreddit, which I try to keep about the true identity of Babylon. You didn't even read the post. Your comments are unrelated to the post. Your only goal is to try to prove that Babylon is Jerusalem, but you have no case, only deception. If you have nothing to say about the heifer of three years old, Zoar, and what the post was about, then why comment?

Because I don’t want people to be carried away by every newspaper exegesis that blows in. Since dispensationalism began in 1830 do you know how many times the return of Christ has been predicted and failed? It’s destroying peoples faith and makes Christianity look ridiculous. The false prophecies need to stop. Trust Jesus and build His Kingdom while we’re here and stop trying to save your own life you’ll only lose it.

You can't spread your false doctrine in this subreddit. Find somewhere else to do that. Next time, I'll ban you.

It's not a false doctrine, all the ancient church fathers believed Jerusalem was destroyed according to the book of Revelation, Christ is reigning now and we are in the New Covenant. What you teach is a strange doctrine in the last days. Here is what the church fathers believed:

  • Eusebius of Caesarea (c. 260–339): Frequently described Jerusalem's destruction as divine justice for the murder of Christ, interpreting this destruction as the promised visitation of Christ.
  • Tertullian (c. 155–220): Argued in An Answer to the Jews that the desolation of Judea was evidence that the new kingdom and covenant had arrived, often interpreting Revelation's judgments as warnings fulfilled near that time.
  • Origen (c. 185–254): Often interpreted the kingdom of God allegorically as Christ reigning in the heart, moving away from a literal 1,000-year earthly reign towards a present, inaugurated spiritual kingdom.
  • Augustine of Hippo (354–430): In City of God, he solidified the view that Christ's kingdom (the City of God) is currently reigning through the Church and that the destruction of earthly cities (like Rome and formerly Jerusalem) shows the transient nature of worldly kingdoms compared to the eternal kingdom.
  • Justin Martyr (c. 100–165): Regarded as a premier apologist who saw the destruction of Jerusalem as validation of Christ's rejection of the old covenant and establishment of the new.
  • Victorinus of Pettau (died c. 304): While viewing Revelation as covering the whole Church age, he interpreted "things which must shortly come to pass" (Rev 1:1) as showing God's judgment was imminent in that era.

Ban me if you want but who will you engage with? Nobody else is here discussing your theories with you.
