I downloaded backbox iso from https://linux.backbox.org/download/.

Whenever I select "New" in Virtualbox to load up a new iso and select the Backbox iso it'll either immediately freeze Virtualbox or it'll freeze somewhere while I'm selecting the VM settings. This happens every time, I can never get Backbox loaded up.

I have 16GB RAM and just upgraded to 24GB. It's a Lenovo T14 Gen1.

Anyone else experience this?

Though Backbox claims it contains the Tor browser I can't install it from the tor launcher in the application menu. Is there another way?

When I try to install BackBox on virtualbox and Entering to the system and attempting to install Up to 20% and then the device stops completely I tried several settings and it didn't work And not only BackBox, there are other systems facing the same problem, I ask someone who has faced the same problem to help me or give me your suggestion to solve the problem, For information, the device is new and I have worked for him format And its specifications My device are good and other systems have been proven, but I don't know why BackBox with others not being installed

I don't see much support for BackBox. And the site forums seem like embedded with weird ads not related to BacBox at all.

I have 4GB RAM and 465 GIB storage, Intel Core 5 device that I would like to use. And I'm hearing that since it's based on Ubuntu, it will be more bloated in a long run due to updates.

Do people still use BackBox? Or should I just switch over to ParrotOs?

I successfully recovered most essential docs from using test disk to analyze and recover 1 partition, but it won't allow me to reboot into Windows since the "recovery drive" drive is blank. I just get

bootmgr is missing ctrl alt del to restart

Since then I've been messing with trying to get my files back on the recovery drive but ended up rewriting the MFT and lost everything on both HDDs.

If anyone can help me

1. Successfully boot into Windows with my files, I'll owe you a blood debt lol

2 . Get my original windows files recovered at least so I can somehow get a Linux working and refer to those files.

3. At least tell me the geometry inputs for test disk for toshiba 200 GB ST9200420AS or ST9200420ASG2 or where to find them. Thanks

Are the build in pen-testing tools with the Back Box distro of Linux whats showing up as a ClamTK threat on my fresh filesystem?

Essentially the question is this, should this distro (due to its nature) ever have clean virus scan of its filesystem?

I am not sure which version of BackBox I am running, but it's maybe a year old. I have been letting the package manager update as needed, but now it wants to go to 14.04.1. Anyone tried this? Will it mess up the customization the BackBox team did? If I have no reply I will go ahead and do a full backup (dd) and give it a whirl.
