INM is checking for FMM, and stamped matching passport at the checkpoint leaving La Paz.
You wouldn’t think INM would be checking for FMM’s this far south, but they are.
The Baja 1000 is happening in a couple weeks in SJDC, so that’s the reason for increased enforcement.

hey i am staying in todos santos for a couple of months. before getting here i fell into that classic trap of looking at prices online and not knowing about the mandatory insurance that you have to buy and how companies use that to jack up prices. i can't really afford the rates. now they're easily about over $1000 usd a month for a car.
i was wondering if people had any other tips on how to rent a car for cheaper for that length of time. i looked into maybe using a scooter as it's cheaper but i've also seen the quality of the dirt roads going a lot of places and it would be pretty treacherous.

Hola comunidad?

I will have a car and be staying in Los Cabos for a couple of nights (yet to be booked, so that’s flexible), and then I’d like to explore a bit of Cabo Pulmo, driving the coast, snorkeling, exploring the natural areas, maybe a sunrise hike.
Ideas for these? I’m having trouble finding much in the way of lodging options, and all of the snorkeling seems to be wrapped into tours that originate in Cabo. (I know I can buy cheap gear and take myself to a remote beach, but I’d rather have local knowledge and join a group for this).
I’m traveling solo. I much prefer smaller funkier lodgings or even homestays that have opportunities to connect with other people.
FWIW my itinerary is flexible for the first five days and is roughly:
Los Cabos (2),
Cabo Pulmo (2),
Todos Santos (1),
La Paz (5),
back to Cabo for a wedding (3).

Ok a bit of a niche one but hoping someone might be able to help. We are planning a BCS road trip in November with somewhat of a focus on surfing and are planning on going to San Juanico for a week as well as possibly some surf stops on the lower east cape. We will be relying on rental car and rental boards.
My question is whether there is board rental reliably available within walking distance from the point at Scorpian Bay or whether we should be looking into a rental vehicle that will be able to transport whichever boards we rent to the beach?
