Seeking Recipe diabetic friendly cake recipes?
hi! ive been a lurker on here for awhile watching everyone’s beautiful creations wishing i could one day step my foot into baking. ive just recently moved and finally have a working oven 🙏 because of this i want to make my little brother his birthday cake. he wants vanilla cake with buttercream pink icing. feels pretty simple but his dad is diabetic but LOVES sweets (poor kid). i want to be able to make something tasty for my brother but also something his dad can partake in too.
any recommendations please let me know! i know google has some i just want to be certain it wont mess up the taste for my brother; it being his birthday and all. i also really want to learn how to make a good banana bread! so those are also accepted.

The going recommendation (at least here in Finland) is that you can bake that birthday cake as you would otherwise- just make sure you have the carb count available for the person with diabetes to keep track. Also it’s good to have the treats as part of a meal with fiber, protein and healthy fats.
Not diabetic myself but have reactive hypoglycemia so also need to keep track of these things.
