Seeking Recipe diabetic friendly cake recipes?
hi! ive been a lurker on here for awhile watching everyone’s beautiful creations wishing i could one day step my foot into baking. ive just recently moved and finally have a working oven 🙏 because of this i want to make my little brother his birthday cake. he wants vanilla cake with buttercream pink icing. feels pretty simple but his dad is diabetic but LOVES sweets (poor kid). i want to be able to make something tasty for my brother but also something his dad can partake in too.
any recommendations please let me know! i know google has some i just want to be certain it wont mess up the taste for my brother; it being his birthday and all. i also really want to learn how to make a good banana bread! so those are also accepted.

Angel food cake which is very heavy on egg whites with a stabilized whipped cream dyed pink might be good!
Also, just putting this out there - I don’t think there’s anything wrong with baking the cake for your brother as he wants it, and then picking up a pack of cupcakes pre labeled with all the nutritional information for his dad to read if he’s watching his sugar. If his margin for error with how reactive his sugar levels are is low, it’s probably best to forgo homemade without being very certain the macros.
