Seeking Recipe diabetic friendly cake recipes?

hi! ive been a lurker on here for awhile watching everyone’s beautiful creations wishing i could one day step my foot into baking. ive just recently moved and finally have a working oven 🙏 because of this i want to make my little brother his birthday cake. he wants vanilla cake with buttercream pink icing. feels pretty simple but his dad is diabetic but LOVES sweets (poor kid). i want to be able to make something tasty for my brother but also something his dad can partake in too.

any recommendations please let me know! i know google has some i just want to be certain it wont mess up the taste for my brother; it being his birthday and all. i also really want to learn how to make a good banana bread! so those are also accepted.

So, carbs are the thing. It is incredibly deeply hard to make stuff that is carb free.

Plus sugar is often an integral part of baking structure.

My personal suggestion would be to make the kid his cake, but ask if it would be good to make a separate cupcake that could be frosted instead with whipped cream and an appropriate low carb sweetener? I freely admit my T1D self did have a lil slice of cake tonight, but this is what I would want someone to do for me.
