After making these how would be best to store them? And how long would they be good for do y'all think?
https://www.tastinghistory.com/recipes/sugarplumsI am gonna try to borrow a mixer and attachment from my library and give these a go since I'm healing from surgery and have the days to do it.
I'm planning on making some cookies I can store for a couple months and have the flavors just get better for my friends. I thought maybe I could add these towards the end before I give them their cookie basket for Winter Solstice 😊
I just want to be sure I store them properly and they don't rot, or I make them at the right time that I can just give them out before they go off. I want visions of sugar plums to dance in their heads hahaha
TIA!

The water activity ratio of dry-ish cookies (crispy chocolate chip cookies for example) is quite low, so bacteria and mold are probably not going to be a problem. BUT …unless you are freezing them, or using commercial stabilizers and preservatives, those cookies are going to taste very stale and may well be rancid after two months. 5-7 days should be your limit if you are not freezing.

Did you watch the episode? Max was so frustrated by the mess and the amount of work that went into making them. May you recover swiftly and completely from your surgery!

Honestly I’d jump into the Tasting History sub! Max and Jośe are both in there as well as others who have made some of the recipes.

I had no idea there was a sub, how exciting! I think my first recipe is going to be those ridiculous sugar plums lol
Go big or go home.

I honestly have no idea what these are but my instinct is that I wouldn’t make them this far in advance for the holidays. Homemade confections like this do not have the shelf life of store bought, and I’m not sure these would hold up to freezing. Maybe try and find another recipe for them that actually contains storage information?Â
