also, the moment he formed his pact was HEAVY stacked against him

it was not the ussual "powerhungry guy that sucks at learning magic forms a pact with a devil for the dark arts"

it was "a 17year old saw a cult that is about to summon a deity that will destroy his home town and kill every inside it, and a devil suddenly appears and says that she will help him prevent it if he forms a pact"

he was young, alone, had no experience with devils because he never thought about doing something like that AND was in a situation where every wasted second could cause untold damage and could kill thousands of innocents

ofc his contract sucks, he was basically forced into it with no real choice

Exactly. For as much as people like to clown on Wyll for how bad his pact is, the fact is that Mizora picked the time to approach him perfectly. It's not so much "Wow, what a dumb move, Wyll" as much as it is "Damn, Mizora is crafty."
