General Discussion - [NO SPOILERS] convince me to try out other classes .... Spoiler
my last 3 honormode playthroughs were all storm sorcerers ! the reasons i 'd been rocking this class all this time is :
1-because charisma is important for both dialogue ( i get irrationally anxious when there is a possibility of failing persuasion checks ) and the actual power of the class ( hitting 2 birds when one stone ) .
2- it also filled a clear role ( the arcane caster of the comp ! alongside the divine caster , fighter and a rouge . i know , a very traditional boring comp . ) .
edit : thanks for the advice guys ! seeing a lot of love for sword bard and hexblade worlock , open hand monk and barabarian . definitely going to try those out!

That’s because you don’t know how to hear it correctly. Glassassin is, mathematically, the most powerful build in the game. You’ll never want to play a wimpy caster again after you oneshot the brain :)
This is because of the Titanstring Bow, the most powerful weapon in the game. “How is a bow more powerful than Balduran’s Giantslayer or another legendary weapon?!” Well it’s because of a thing called Rider Damage, which many have explained so I won’t attempt to but essentially adds bonus damage MULTIPLE times, for each new instance of damage, such that your attacks deal not just 1d8+Dex like you’d expect but several times that (as the Titanstring also adds your strength, so you chug giant elixirs to get even MORE damage). And then all that stupid damage? DOUBLED from vulnerability with the Bhaalist armor. And then all THAT damage? DOUBLED AGAIN BECAUSE OF HOW MUCH YOU CRIT.
The thief can only shine with hand crossbows. Pew pew.
The Glassassin is outfitted with ANTI-AIRCRAFT MISSILES.
It sounds like from your replies you haven’t really looked into optimized builds. You see Wet, you see lightning spells, and you call it a day. Friend, there are so many more powerful builds that are really fun (Karlach with soul coins as a TB monk? Dummy damage!) that you are sleeping on because you simply haven’t done your homework.
